I believe Palette Unknown 1 and Special Orange is a ripple effect, but I will look more into it.

I was wrong.
Whenever you change anything that has it, even if you change it back, it will go to a normal palette. What I was testing had ripples and has another thing ontop, so I was thinking maybe that is was ripples.

I was tweaking flingy.dat and I found something wierd

If u give Turnstyle a low value - like 10- the unit will accelerate very slow and when u stop it and give again a move command it will keep it's acceleration before the stop.
Is "Turnstyle" really turnstyle because i did not saw any difference in turning?

For weapons, there is still an unknown in the behavior box, even in the current DatEdit version. I've known what this does before Arsenal III was made. It is used on Psionic Storm. I posted information about it on my site a while back, here's that part of it (changed a bit, though):

The unknown in the behavior box makes the graphic for when the weapon is flying to the target instead appear on the target. The graphic stays on the spot where it appeared, rotates for a short time (if it is one with multiple directions), then explodes. The target takes damage from the attack when it appears and keeps losing the same amount at a certain interval until the graphic disappears. The sprite must have frames for moving, it can't just be a graphic for an explosion. Any graphic that can be used for 'Flies to target' or 'Seeks target' can be used for 'Unknown'. When a weapon has 'Unknown' in the behavior box, changing the other values has more of an effect on what the weapon does than when a weapon isn't using 'Unknown'. If missle type is set to normal and explosion type is set to normal, the attack keeps damaging the target. If missle type is set to bouncing and explosion type is set to one that does splash damage, the attack will be like Psionic Storm. If missle type is set to homing and explosion type is set to one that does splash damage, the attack might be like Irradiate, but I haven't tested it yet.

It's beta but it still makes me wonder...could that be the unknown flingy?

Interesting picture. The "Release" version of SC has many things changed to make it run on low-end computers, and there were lots of things removed like flight physics etc.

I'm not sure how blizzard made the sprites but i suppose they were 3d units that got flatened to 2d and scaled down...i wish blizzard makes a game using the non-scaled units and all the cool stuff tongue.gif

Yeah, the sprites are 2d snapshots of 3d models. That's why they turn so nicely.
