Nobody is stupid enough to jip you.  Paypay is very secure and nobody has the guts to do something like that.

There are some good computers on Ebay and you can save alot of money.

I recommend Falcon computers.  Theyre simply the fastest.

I've been ripped off on eBay before. I just called the credit card company, said we didn't get the stuff, and they voided the charge.

And did you actually get the "stuff" you ordered? Or did you get anything?

No, I didn't get the stuff. What I got was my money back from the credit card company.

I find ebay quite sketchy. I would stick with going to independent computer stores and getting computer parts for cheaper. Than get someone to build it. That is what i did. Also make sure they are compatable. You could just buy a build computer for abuot 1000, save up hard and you won't regret it.

I'm looking for a $600. I think I have what I want though, so thanks anyways XD

I know how to put a computer together too, and even if I don't, I have my dad, and SEN to help me! smile.gif

Anyway, what about using eBay for buying small things like books and stuff?

there are lots of other ways to get things without the use of online auctions as they usually really do rip you off. as in real life, the internet is also full of untrustworthy groups of people.

as for the books and small things, there are online resources, local libraries, sen, maybe professors you know, and maybe other sources you can go to for help.

I really don't get all the people bashing eBay here. It's a safe market if you use your brain and don't go for things which are obviously scams.

Always make sure the seller has 100% positive feedback, read the full item description and avoid people who sell get rich quick schemes. Maybe in America you're more likely to get ripped off or something, but I've never had a problem on eBay in the UK. Just last week I bought an ancient computer (built in 1997 by Sharp) which is basically just a word processor and spreadsheet with a built-in printer. I got it for £45 and it arrived yesterday - it's perfect for writing documents without the distraction of the Internet or games.

You can buy hardware cheaper on ebay and then build the comp yourself. I saw an fx60 for half the price its normally worth.

I've bought a Gameboy color (+ games), some pc games, and other misc. stuff from ebay.co.uk and everything was fine.

But, i've been scammed on eBay.com once, so i don't trust people from there tongue.gif

Ah - I get all my stuff from ebay.co.uk too - maybe British people are more trustworthy than Americans? wink.gif

British people use Ebay.com too...

Yeah, but eBay.co.uk is almost 100% British members and I've never had a problem. You're right though - I bet that there are a lot of different nationalities on eBay.com.

Maybe the longer distances across the USA means that pissed-off customers won't consider paying a visit to someone who ripped them off, whereas they might over here.

Put together.  If you order individual pieces, there's  a 40:1 chance at least one won't work.

O RLY?

and how can you be sure of that 40:1 chance?
