I believe in the Big Bang theory. It makes perfect sense and the vague description of the creation of the world in the Bible matches it best with all the other possible scientific explanations for how the universe formed.

Ya

Big bang and creationism can easily co exist. Unless creationism throws in God creating the entire universe. Including himself. THEN we got some problems.

Because there is no science behind GOD.

There is a ot of Science behind The Big Bang Theory of coarse.

Please don't post again. Your logic hurts my eyes.

If you want to get "technical" God could be created from the universe, or could be some intelligent form of life that exists in this universe.

For all we know, he could be an alien.

But please, stop. You contradicted yourself, and spammed with your looooong gaping holes inbetween your lines.

The Big Bang Theory is the only scientific way of explaining how the universe began.  Since I am a science person and all I believe in aer things that are backed up by proof in science!  One reason because GOD, yes im sorry for these people that do, I dont believe in him!  He didn't make the universe.  All that just is another myth.  Theres a lot of myths out there but this one his the biggest.  GOD created earth.  Ummm, No he didnt!!!!!!  Just like god crearted man right.  WRONG!!!  There is firm evidence that humans evolved over many years from the creature we now call the (Ape, Gorilla, Monkey) which ever one you want to think!  Science states that these are correct and I believe these!  Are you gonna believe some old guy that died a million years ago who said, GOD created everything, No becuase that guy was probly still walking on all fours and had no teeth.  This guy probably had a piece of animal covering his junk.  Or are you going to believe the most top suffisticated people of our time, Scientists!  I dont know its your choice!
This also goes on of how the universe is still growing!  Yes our universe that we are in is still growing.  Scientists using very powerful Spectroscopes see galaxies that are reflecting red glow.  You are probably thinking, what does that mean?  Well if that galaxy was reflecting green light, this would mean that the galaxy was moving towards us.  But red means that it is traveling further from us.  In every direction the galaxies are showing red, which means that, Space as we call it is actually growing.  Just like everything else that started very tiny, like humans!  Poeple think that the Big Bang Theory must be wrong because there is now way two elements running into each other at high speeds could create a blast to form our universe.  Well something that occurs right here on earth that you would have to think twice about, that happens every day.  A child being born.  Did you know the embryo that is what, at 14 weeks is 1 mm in length.  Get your ruler out and see how small that is!  Ya tiny!!!!!!  Thats at 14 weeks, now in about 15 years or so, that exact baby will be between 5 feet tall and 6 feet tall.  Now you think well ya thats in 15 years. Well, if somebody was, if you blinked during the Big Bang it would just be there, It takes time, and assuming how fast it is traveling we could make this idea.  But no one does!  But from humans evolving over 7.5 billion years after the world was created, We know everything takes time!  That is why the universe is enormous!  And to this day it is still growing!!!!!!  I believe in the Big Bang Theory!!!!
Read this!!!!!!!!!

you might learn something from a warning. plus, if god existed he'd be sorry for you when you're dead.

god could be an super-intelligent entity of races that existed way before any races existed. God could have created technology so great that even dead "Minds" are trapped somewhere in their network, judging what they did in their life.

I'm sorry to go a bit out of subject here, but I have to say this:

Sure, you may say that there isn't any scientific evidence that God exists, but there is also no evidence stating that he doesn't exist. Either way, there is no evidence stating that God does or does not exist.

Science is all about theories proven with facts, mathematics and evidence; it is not about whether or not there is no evidence stating that it does exist.

If youre so smart then tell me what started the big bang. Youre saying that the universe just "appeared". Wheres the science behind that? Exactly.
Plus the big bang theory doenst talk about how it was created just what happened after it was. So god here is totally irelevent.

Id like to add that half the stuff you posted up there is wrong. We didnt evolve from the monkey. According to evolutionary theory we evolved from a similar organism which monkeys also evolved from. Then you go off about evolution and the human embryo which doenst prove your point at all. mellow.gif

I hope you realize that scientists arent all on the same side of this issue. The 2nd law of thermodynamics for example disproves evolution. But scientists are still arguing about it.

It doesn't matter if how everything started doesn't make sense, because it will never make sense. If you find a way to prove how it works, you then need to find a way to prove that the facts are correct, and then the facts that prove that those facts are correct and so on.

Also, I'm pretty sure we've managed to get an electron past the speed of light.

This is simply impossible. The Big Bang started with a massive explosion cause by unkown means. If there were 2 objects, or in this case, different masses, then the Universe would've already existed and thus nullifying the Big Bang theroy.

And in reference to syaing that since you're a scientific person which believes that God doesn't exist, you're believeing the wrong scientific reasons on why he doesn't exist.

Why cant you understand this and stop bringing God into the conversation?

Just because God doesnt exist doesnt mean that the Big Bang theory is automatically right. In fact its not really a theory its more of a hypothesis since you cant go back in time and see it happen.

Are the planets increasing in size or are stars getting more energy when theyre moving apart? No. Your logic makes no sense. In fact the universe is doing the opposite. The universe is moving towards disorder and the overall entropy is increasing as stars lose energy.

well astronomy is one science that is hard to prove theories into facts...and science and probably everyday lives on theories.

since no human being has never landed or lived anywhere else in space other than the earth it is hard to get clear evidence of events to happen especially if its billions of years old. no one has lived that long and our logic is being based on observations and scientific theories and maybe some people believe them as true, but the fact is its not 100% accurate.

we don't even know much about the earth, as we are just making observations on theories about the earth also. no one has ever drilled a hole into the crust and know whats inside the planet but it can be true that its saying it has a liquid and solid iron core...who knows...

back on topic, big bang is a theory to explain how the universe's existence came to be. we believe that the birth of galaxies can be like how the universe came to be. it started out violent, exploding, expanding, stars, collision of space particles, dust, rocks, and other things.the pull of gravity from the particles make them collide and then eventually formed things like planets and galaxies.
you can think of the universe as being made up of things.

planets>solar systems>galaxies>universe
house>city>state>continent>world

i pretty much got that out of an astronomy book.

The Big Bang Theory doesn't say how the Universe was created, it states how it came to it's current state.

The Big Bang Theory starts with an explosion begining at 1 millionth of a millionth of a second after the Universe we know today was created. Then the whole atomic expansion, molecule forming, dust clouds speeding away from the center and all that stuff that you should know before posting here.

There is no flaw with the Big Bang Theory, the theory starts working at 1 millionth of a millionth of a second after the Universe we know today was created. This is because Mathematically, there is a Singular Charge during that period, we don't know if it still exists before that instant, in with all Laws of Physics don't work Mathematically. The force of gravity is so astronomical, that atoms and sub-atomic particles could not possibly exists because there would be no space and thus no force on which to act upon or to be acted upon. Since there is no space, there is no atoms and then there would be no mass and therefore no energy. Therefore you have gravity acting upon nothing and space would bend on it's own, am impossibility by Einstein's gravitational theory.

Mass can be converted into energy and energy can be converted into mass, but neither one can be created. E=mc[sup]2[/sup]

QUOTE(BeeR_KeG @ Mar 23 2006, 03:00 PM)
A galaxy closer to the center can be going faster than one farther away. This is simple, another galaxy might've gotten close to the first's orbit and thus the galaxy is starting to fall on the bended space (gravity) of the first galaxy and since F=ma, and since all mass bend the space around them with force, all galaxies have mass, we would have a resultant acceleration.

that's pretty logical.. i didnt think of that one.. i just forgot about that f=ma in that case but it sounds good

What id like to know is why some planets spin in a direction different than others if the big bang really happened.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by BeeR_KeG on 2006-03-27 at 15:54:29
I'll take Uranus as the most common example known by people to that question, it's not the same, but it's quite similar.

Uranus' (<-- Subliminal message FTW! tongue.gif ) magnetic poles are at 90 degrees. THis means that the Magnetic North would equivalently be at our equator. The was caused by a collision with a large asteroid which therefore, caused the planet to spin at 90 degrees vertically. Now, to have a planet spin at 180 degrees horizontally, to me, would mean one of two things.

1) Either all planets spin in concordance to their place in the Universe or Galaxy. IE: If we rotate from east to west, a planet directly opposite to us in the other end of he Universe or most possibly a Galaxy, would spin from west to east. I think of this because of the gravitational spin that the Universe itself may have.

2) A large collision of some sort happened at an odd angle, like less than one degree, barely slipping the surface, with so much force that it out-does the centripetal force and momentum that the planet has, causing it to change.

The most generally accepted theory is the second one, and the first one is just a small thought that I have. It can't really be proved since all planets we've discovered are extremely close to us.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by UN-Rommel on 2006-03-27 at 17:05:17
Ummm thats not the theory of the big bang...The theory tells a story about how a gigantic boulder in space one day decided to implode and exhale small pieces of rocks (huge to us) that we call planets. The cause of the implosion is unknown but we do know that it forced the planets to spread around the milky way. As time passed on, these planets started to show signs of life and had some source of scenery.

Please.. The big bang theory tells a story of how existance appeared because of an explosion. How could a boulder have existed to blow up if there was no existance?

Because planets weren't created for millions of years after the big bang, the simply condensed from clouds. During that time they'd be struck by meteors, which would help them along in the finding of their axis.

You lose. Period.

The big bang was the instance that a atomic sigularity that made up the entire universes exploded into fast moving hydrogen, helium and lithium; possibly faster than the speed of light. After awhile other things started forming because of nuclear reactions, massive heat and pressure.

I pray that you weren't serious.
