The observer was called witness and when you piss it off you can hear familiar voices from Diablo1.

I can recite them from memory, the quotes are hilarious...

Adria (Diablo 1) : "I sense a soul in search of answers..."
Someone I don't recognize: "A GARGANZO something something !"
Armstrong (guy who went on moon): "That's one small step for man, one giant leap for..." <garble garble> (Grunt from WC2:) "STOP POKING ME!"
Advertiser person: "WARCRAFT FIVE! In stores something something..."

- Orc, Warcraft
[PWiPss03] *a short clip from the hidden track in Warcraft II*

QUOTE
if you get the BWSoundUtility it has a file that says all the used and unused sound files

Actually, it extracts most of the commonly used sound files (although in the bullet directory, theres a lot of firing unit sounds that are not in starcraft. Plus things like PSI sheild disruption).

If you reverse some of the observer sounds and slow them down you can here some things.

pwiyes01 = about half way through there sounds something like a female or even child saying 'What?

ppwiwhat01 = Some form of 'Agents Sculder and Mully'

pwiwht00 = There's a clear male saying "Report" at 3.2 seconds.

pwirdy00 = *Deep male* Wait, <something something> then inaudible.

pwidth00 = <something something>, no more."
The death sound is very speeded up voice, as if it were saying something as it died, but all I can make out is that 'no more'. It might even be 'I can takes no more'.

If you try reversing zerg sounds you might find some more.

some of the protoss language stuff they say is something in
english backwards. or if you cast around the letters or stuff.

this is getting more creepier.. and this is only sc.. what about
wc3?...

They're not sublimal messages... Messing with voices is one of the best ways to bet good sound effects. (It's also quite a common way...)

That's pretty weird but it makes sense for blizzard to just use backward vioces and it sounds cool in the game so I'm not complainin'

Like I said, that is a common way to get sound effects... playing with real sounds and messing them up.

Off-Topic: If you take the voices from the Elite from Halo, turn it around and speed it up a tad to make it a higher pitched voice, it becomes the Sargent from Halo.

It'll take a bit to load because of all the sounds.

Just use the Sound Recorder. Start->Programs->Accessories->Entertainment.
Also, did anyone notice that the Protoss building sounds are under the Shuttle?
