He's talking about the greed games, the slaughter games, and the capture the flag games. He's saying rather than make another UMS, make more maps for those genres.

ummm..... how about a domination map.... its in many other games i play...

its when you have to hold on to a certain point (or Flag, area, etc.) to get points. the longer you hold the point, the more points you get over time... for example.... 1 point per 5 seconds that you control that point. the point is given to the person with the most units in the area at the time. you win by getting a certain amount of points...lets say.... 100 points.

ever played frogger 2? there is a quite fun game mode that looks the old "snake" game-u dont have to hit your tail or the walls.the diffrence is that there are 4 players on one screen

Ok, originality time.

How about a map where there random islands (made of units or something) Players each start off owning one island, and control arbitors in one corner of the map. One each island is a unit owned by each player, set there only as a marker. You cannot see your own units, although you would see the map as a whole. The players take turns, (well they wouldn't have to, but meh) moving from one island to another by recalling their markers on the islands. By recalling they send out an interceptor or something fast, that lays down burrowed units for player 12 while it moves from their current island to the one they selected. If they run into any uninhabited Island on the way, they capture it instead of the target. They then try to cut off the other players movement by surrounding them with islands. If one player shoots into another players already owned path, their path gets destroyed.

Meh its kinda like other games now that I look at it, you simply try to cut the other person off from getting islands.

I just thought of another one, but I could put it to better use as a boss in a map I'm making.

an idea : Star chess

basically its a game of chess turn based, with the difference that your figures must kill the opponents figures to take a position rather then just taking it.

so u have the chess rules and a chess board + hit points & shields.

somehow the figures must move and range fight in the same way as in an original chess game.

the king could have a special spell like recall to save figures or its self during check-mate or a simple fight.

castles, bishops, horses, ..... u know what i mean happy.gif

you could also put in elements of like in the "magic card games" as bonus or turn based abilities

what about this as an idea?
if the original chess is to hard to make it could be made more simple like in chinese chess or medieval chess

Why not use a Fusionnier-Type map? (lol)

It was my unique defence, the triggers take a long time and get repetetive...
Noone used the fusion system since I did, and I think I'm the only one who used it.

Here is the link to my unique defence, and yes... it is brutally hard. Maybe you can use the "system" to make a map of your own with fusions.

No offence, thats already been done. There isn't many of these maps (in fact very few) but I did play 2 versions of this.

I thought up of a map a while ago but I never made it. I wrote down a lot of notes for it.

Well Its a 2 player map in which each human player picks a unit from a team. The Human player can give commands to his computer teammates. There is individual commands and Group commands. The goal is to capture the flag, but only the human players can pick up the flag. That could be a good or bad thing depending how fast your unit is.

I say if you make a good arena map a lot of people will be happy, if you haven't noticed a lot of them suck or are unbalenced, I'm currently working on an Eragon arena game where you pick a unit(good or bad character from the books) and you get a better character after a while, I just started it and I have a friend who is doing the terrain.

Also for any WC3 players out there, there is a game called DOTA, you pick a hero and fight the other team, but there is a catch, both teams include a computer base that spawns and attacks the other side, now I know it has been done, LOTRish mostly, but I haven't seen many versions of this kind of game out.

One last idea: Survival Defences, in WC3 they kickass and in SC there is like 10 versions of basically the same game, I say if you can make a good solo def you will be god. On the topic of defence games, I played a game called Single Unit Defence(sumthing like that) where u build normally but at a timed interval a unit goes by a path in the middle(like a typical def) except ther is only 1 and it is very strong, I was thinking mixing a solo def with the one unit idea.

If you use any of the things i said plz include me in any projects, I'd love to help out more.

This was a game mode on the Killzone map. I'll attach it for you... Just wait I helped make it so I have 3 versions, I'm not sure which one it is... I'll add it in a minute.

ADD: Alright, I did it, but SeN froze up and now my things gone... I'll have to do it again... (sigh)

There's killzone, and here's a map I made. It uses the same sort of idea but not with points. It was based on SW: Battlefront.

Ok... my idea :

An RPG/Bound : At start, you choose your personnage. Each guys have his own speciality : Strong, Fast, Armor, Range, etc... You need to passed in a stranger land where the trees kill you when you tuch them and you also need to avoid the little bomb (would be something like marines) that the the computer send to you. And during all the game, you will also have to battle yourself. There would be some traps, gadget (like a vulture : when the vult put his mine, he run awayand you just have to unload a certain guys from the dropship magic for that your guys is teleported), etc...

Or how about a Melee defense RPG?
Not entirely sure what I mean, but hey, it'll keep some people shut up for a little while.. Like..

An RPG where you choose a character as your hero whilst you build a base and defend from attackers. Like Aeon Strife, except you get to command defenses.

ah, I see, yes not a lot of people replaied to that, because it was showing them a new idea, not asking them about a new idea. That must have been why people did reply as mmuch feedback on the idea that you gave! I liked the idea, just not exactly wat I was looking for.
