The only way I could think of of having all the armies facing one direction(except for using sprites) is have a bunch of units that they all attack that are in a certain direction, while your're watching rest of trailer.
Meh. You shoulda made it interactive! J/k

Actually what you would do is first create a unit formation with zerglings or some other unit. Since it is late in the map you have quite a bit of time to set it up. So Create like 5 little strips of land where you order units to move down like 2 tiles. Once they get to the lower tile center a location on one of your zerglings in the formation, remove it, then move the marine / goliath to the centered location. Then to stabalize them you would create a location over water or another unwalkable area and use the move/transport action to constantly move everyone in the area to that location.

The problem with ordering them to attack some where is you have to move them back to there original location. witch requires alot of centering work or alot of locations (proboly more than tux has left).

Aweeeeeeeeeesome work tux, I'm sure that your RPG will rock, like all your maps.
Anyway, for the facing units, you should know that since patch 1.11 there is a bug in SC, and some units start facing to the same side ALWAYS.

Also, where is the story? hmmm?

For the string limit, I suggest using PROEdit's string editor for try to get more strings. Also, if you didnt hit the char max you can use SF or SCMD2 for set the string limit to a number higher than 1024.
In Kill Me! you didnt try to waste strings in trigger comments, but you had near 400 strings in comments! that's near the 1/2 of the strings!

I heared that requiem before. MindArchon have it in his webpage tongue.gif

And you could tell us something more about the map... What will it look like? Will it have a battle system? Slow/fast action? Are you going to make puzzles? Will you change the character (like marine->firebat->ghost) with experience, buying weapons or you will just need to upgrade? Will it have spells/summons? .....
You could tell us lots of things.

EDIT: I read bolt's post, and I remember a trick that blizzard used on one of his campaigns. It was put the marine in the locations, and then move them with a trigger action. They will try to come back to the original location if they are owned by a computer player. Also, get in mind that the stupid marines will move if you let them to.

EDIT2: I made a demostration map of that method. It doesnt work very well (the marines mustnt be near eachother, and they are moved to top-right) but I think that tux can get it to work perfect. Also, there is the problem of freeze them, so they dont move anymore, or use units that doest move around.

Mmm darn my stabalizing thing doesn't work. (wonder if it is just air units)

Edit well crap the stabalizing techniqes i was thinking of only work for air units. (also it lagged alot)

My best guess is that combat will be similar to Trigger Happy Defense, seeing as the apparent heroes are the Androms, which are Defilers. So changing character wouldn't make sense. And it's pretty likely that it'll have puzzles. Oh well let's just wait for Tux to finish.

Nice idea bolt, but as mine it will only work with units that dont face around, like marines do.

Must comment you on that, music fit the trailer perfectly and really set the mood.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by SaLaCiouS(U) on 2004-07-24 at 18:26:53
OK! Shutup. You're all acting like morons and I'm pissed. Music is amazing, you are all going crazy over the music he used.. like he composed it and played it or something. I assume that Tux must have based the length and timing of his scenes on the music, not the other way around. Nothing special there. Even after that fact, the music was pretty much homogenous, and only three of the scenes had to be different in order to "fit the music perfectly". The intro, the scene with the Androms in the crystal place, and the Armada at the end. I don't know if Bolt came up with all that "Negative Feedback" because he was asked to, or because he actually believed it, but that's what I've been telling people ever since I saw the map. The point of a trailer is to let people KNOW what the map is about. That trailer gave very little information about the map, and what it did give, was stupid. It didn't even say the name, which Tux promptly gave out, meaning it wasn't even a secret. The introduction's text seems to infer that some sort of great demon (or daemon in this case, which I find idiotic at best) is going to "slay the enemies of peace" when "war comes to the sovereign nations of this world". That makes no sense whatsoever. Demons do not "slay the enemies of peace". Also, Golden-Fist, you are right, you are an idiot. There is no "ing". If anyone tries to say the effects and stuff in that map were cool, you're an idiot. The map is split into 12 different scenes, and only one had any effects that a newb couldn't do (the speeder bike scene, "heat wave" effect). Anyone can run an AI Script for Arbiter Recall or an Action to kill a unit for it's explosion sprite.

Ok that's my rant. Like it or not.
