But isnt that how the modding forums started out? tongue.gif

As for how the poll's doing, so far there's 6 people for it and 2 against biggrin.gif

Thank you for considering the poll.

I still don't see why Modding General Discussion can't be used to collaberate team modding projects. The activity there is low enough as it is - its had roughly 1300 posts in a year.

...Cause everyone (including myself) didn't think you where allowed to post that type of topics there... blink.gif

ADDITION: maybe you should change the description of the topic, somehow it sounds like that's against the rules...
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Mini Moose 2707 on 2006-05-15 at 21:28:03
Yeah, now that you bring that up it DOES lack a good description. I'll change it.

Actually, should I just make a forum for team projects in general? Not just mods?
Like "Team Projects & Campaigns".

EDIT: Hm, what is Freelancers for then. We've got some confusion here. smile.gif

Sounds good to me, that fits my sugguestions description and works for many other types of topics biggrin.gif

Discussing protection methods?

Maybe it should be "Team Projects, Campaigns, & Freelancers". biggrin.gif

I say just use Freelancers. That is rather what it is for.

No, there was a strong demonstrated push of people with modding knowledge, and a few mods had been recently released around the time the forum was made.

Id like to state for the record if i could as a UMS map maker a campaign forum would be a great idea. Not only have i wished to create one myself but The Saga Of Doodan really got me thinking. But im back logged with 3-5 projects as it is right now.

Anyway my point is this:
I think given a forum, alot of the melee and UMS map makers especially would take intrest in making campaigns.

And whats the worst that could happen? Its inactive and gets removed? Its not like making one is going to change SEN forever......or maybe it could.

Answer first: What's wrong with using Freelancers or Maps/Mods in production (depending on wha type of campaign it is). There's no rule that says "you can't make a campaign".
Report, edit, etc...Posted by TERRAINFIGHTER on 2006-05-16 at 15:16:35
No, apparently there isn't a rule against it...
but their isn't a topic for it either, and doesn't that make it against the rules? (I thought it did tongue.gif )

Take my mod for example, I wanted to create a topic requesting mapmakers to help me make one,
but there was no campaign forums, so I didn't post it since I had no clue where to post it (part of why I made this topic)

If you want people to help you with a project, Freelancers is the place. If in doubt, just post the topic and we'll move it as we see fit.

It looked like their were about 15 people last time I checked that were interested in Campaigns. Plus, we would get alot more traffic from people coming to the site. All in all, I think this is one of the best things you guys could do to furthur extend map-making in general at our site.

Freelancers gets ignored about 50% of time people rarely goto it so kinda hard post something in there and get it noticed.

I understand what your saying DT. Really up to Admins say yes or no about it. I dont know if mods talking about it with admins but mah. We shall see what happens.

True, Freelancers is in one of those places people, like myself, are rarely accustomed to looking into. (For lack of all the Map-Making threads inside)

If there's as much campaign-making talent as you claim, hijack it! wink.gif

Doesn't work, I posted a topic asking for mapmakers a few hours ago and so far I've gotten only about 4 views tongue.gif
(if you subtract mine)

Well now, perhaps people aren't as interested as you claim, or perhaps they all want to head their own projects.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by TERRAINFIGHTER on 2006-05-18 at 18:57:16
That or nobody noticed it because of the forum it was in (I asked for a moderator to move it, but so far they havn't)

ADDITION: seems someone finally did notice it, but only 1 person tongue.gif

Very well, but I only know a few of the minions names, and most of them are busy rip.gif

[offtopic]the usergroup information topic says that regulars can edit their own topics,
was it removed because it won't let me edit mine (other then open and closing, but I could do that before)[/offtopic]
