wtf DT? it's so obvious such a condition does NOT exist (<-- Not meant to be offensive). we've said that, he doesn't listen. now he comes up with a crappy excuse for not playing it after i tell him he can.

I'm just trying to help the {poor?} guy. It can't hurt to give him simple advice, like searching for such a program on the web. If it doesn't exist, he can spend the rest of his days looking for it. wink.gif

Simple trick. You get one map that crashes you that has the same name as the real map. The download overwrites the previous map. Then you play the *real* map and you get to actually do a bound.

In other words, your friend is an idiot who is trying to make himself look good.

This topic is closed we've all pretty much came to the conclusion his friend is being duped. Hopefully a mod will come along and close this topic now.

Someone should make a program to preview text perfectly to make overlapping text much easier.

or to have an overlapper program that does it exactly right...

Overlapping is easy to do, as soon as I learned the formula I became an expert at it. There is however a little trick that isn't included in the formula.. which is that it's sometimes helpful to use multiple front/back marks. That's how I got my map to say "Darkness Rising RPG" with "Darkness" in grey, "Rising" in red, and "RPG" in green. I got grey to come first, line up perfectly, and centered normally. It looks great and all thanks to the Overlapping formula + my little trick biggrin.gif

I know the problem. The "you are not blahblahblah" only shows up for player 1, rite? If so, your friend uses a Stay Alive Hack, so he doesn't lose automatically, and just ignores the "you are not blahblahblah", so he stays alive, the text messages stop soon, and you don't even notice cuz you're not player 1.

I must admit, this took a little time to figure out.

Edit: Uh.. nvm... I see it crashes you instead of "failed to achieve victory"

maybe we could get clokr_ to unprotect it...

Guys you STILLL DONT UNDERSTAND WHATS GOING ON!

First, his friend shows him the REAL map. He says "Here look, all I have to do is say something and a player gets banned." Then, somewhere on the map, in a corner or something, he prepares a civilian or some unit to move onto a beacon. This is what will really cause the player to be banned. Then he says "Ban P2", and moves his civilian onto the beacon at that moment so it looks like what he said is actually doing something.

Second, the second map he made was FAKE. It will crash ANYONE who plays it, even him, he has a seperate map that does the stuff for real.

Admitedly, these are guesses. HOWEVER... in the spirit of Sherlock Holmes (who isn't even real..), When you've disproved everything else, what's left, no matter how improbable, must be the truth!

Who was it who mentioned something about using C++ Uber Programming skills to create a program that follows your commands as you type them in...

First of all, those cheat commands are HARD-CODED into the Starcraft machine, even with all current software placed in the Modding community you cannot remove them, edit them as such.

Therefore it is rather hard to make new ones, or in fact edit existing ones, to change their abilities. You mentioned that he "typed" in something and the action would take place.

For this to happen, first you would need to reconfigure Starcraft to accept the new "command lines", which you couldn't, and then have a script running within Starcraft that would then do set actions depending on the command. You couldn't create the a trigger to do the action, because you would have to write the script for the trigger to exist and function the following commands to implement into the actual game.

With all that in place, you could do it offline, however you can't because you can't change or make new command lines. Online would be a different matter all together, and i doubt anything you did would ever achieve success.
