True, it is also the matter of opinion on which the user is more comfortable in using.

DOS is not unforgiving or intimidating. DOS is wonderful. Do not dis on DOS. DOS rarely does something you don't tell it to. Windows/Macs, well, I think I've too much go wrong with windows and have to fix it with DOS to mean much of anything...

However, I still like to use the interface....It is faster for me in most cases.

DOS is intimiditating, because you open up a DOS window and you get nothing but a black screen and a command line. It's like being left in a pitch black room with nothing but a screwdriver. It's also unforgiving because if you type in, for example, 'I want you to run Starcraft', it's not going to say 'yes sir, right away!' Noooo it's going to tell you 'Bad command or filename!' as it laughs at your pitiful attempts to try and speak it's language.

Pleasantries aside, I never meant to be disrespecting DOS. I absolutely love DOS. DOS is my friend. We kid all the time, don't we, DOS?

That was off-topic, sorry.

Oh and I'll admit that I do cheat on DOS too; I use the graphical interface all the time, except when I run into problems. Then DOS is always there to back me up.

Yeah, fair enough....although I started on DOS when I used computers(I didn't even use Windows 3.1). DOS has helped me fix every computer problem I've created over the past 5+ years.

With IceCC, the interface can help, especially when I forget to trace the unit->flingy->sprite->images train.

Hahahaha yes, Windows 3.1 was quite the joke, way back when. I also used DOS back in the day.

I was using How to use IceCC tutorial. And after i finish typing 10. and press enter it says ' "icecc" is not regonized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file '
Wtf?!

That sounds like a DOS error...caused by not being in the right directory...so if you are trying to use the command prompt, make sure the working directory is C:\IceCC\, otherwise it will give that error.

since it seems noone else told you this, try typing "cd (file path here, use \'s for the folders, and no \ at the last folder)" first,
then follow your steps again like you normally would do smile.gif
