I don't see how Team Fortress is anything new. It's old Team Fortress with new graphics, they've been doing games like that for years. But Portals looks fun.

Yea, I'd have to agree. Unless TFC adds like a ninja or pirate class, it's going to be same old.

Portal looks cool and it's also something NEW, than your typical FPS/RPG about saving the world.

I just got the new PCGamer, and they did a neat preview on Bioshock, from the guys that brought us System Shock 2. It looks like a fantastic horror shooter.

The two elements of a game are the single and multiplayer.

Singleplayer games will always have sucky gameplay. You're always forced to win to proceed. However, I play these for their story.

Not entirely true. Ever play a Pokemon game? Yes you play to beat it, but its possible to lose tongue.gif

And you can lose in any single player, you just get a "Game Over" sign when you do for half them. The other half you go back to some area blah blah. tongue.gif

What I'm looking for in next gen, is not the graphics, but for online play. That way I don't have to kidnap my friends to my house to play some games. Also, it would be nice to have in games that match your skill level to others just like Halo 2 or Warcraft 3. That's brilliant.

Ya and half the time they get hacked by the people that are too lazy to try and make themselfs skillful at a game. Look what happened to Starcraft, so many ppl hacked ladder that no1 can actually call themself "the best on sc" . Sooner or later it'll happen to WC3. Halo 2 should be good though cuz its for xbox.

Anyway my point is that some people ruin these games for the people that want to actually play, so whats the point in having them?(Don't unclude starcraft cuz we all pretty much play it to socialise online or make maps tongue.gif)

Well like cloud said, the industry is starting its downhill roll into the El Zilcho. Most games released today are crap (look at most PS2 titles). also, the gaming industry is focusing too much on graphics. I'd prefer an 8-bit shooter than a quality graphics one like Halo 2 because games are supposed to feel like "games" not real life. I think the gaming industry is going down unless they have ideas like "3D Gaming" (It's possible without 3-D glasses).

EDIT: The last game I played that made me say WOW was Mario Party 2. It actually felt like a game. Mario Party 3,4,5,6,and 7 were crap.
