for the nuke thing, the terrans specially designed that to be a weak guded nuclear missle,

and renaming units would be soo cool, you could reuse the units

lf you noticed a pattern, then you would also know Blizzard always creates a new graphics engine for every game. You wont have to worry about War3 graphics, you would have to wait until you see a planned production, then screenshots, then de-hydration from drool.

I would like the same amount of "modding" we got to use in Sc1.
Like Starforge, SCXE, SCMDraft and more.
They changed so many aspects of the game that keep it interesting and new.

Navy would be cool and having some sort of oil like in Wc2.

No new race, although they could make Xel'Naga and Hybrid NPC races like the Demons in Wc3. Make them like for campaings and the UMS, but melee keep it zerg, terran and protoss.

Make some more units and stuff, not too many though like a couple of buildings and several units.

If you create too many new units, it will be hard to balance like in Wc3, where a lot of things are inbalanced.

Also, Id like to see a campaign editor thatll rival those that other modders would make. This means some suped up Staredit capable of actually changing unit looks, giving them different weapons (ie go into unit settings, change the marine to use frag grenades, firebat shoot acid, etc); thatll open a lot more variety.

You know what would be interesting is if they abandoned the square building placing thing and made it so you could build it anywhere, instead of exactly on the squares! That would be FUN!

One thing I would like to get a response on is does anyone here find units moving and attack at the same time interesting? Like, watch a Marine move around a Zergling as it advances for its kill. Like, make them smarter so they don't want to die and they will try to keep themselves alive! It would make battles more interesting!

Wall would be interesting to see, like players can build them! (And walk on top of them!)

and hero upgrading was a cool aspect of WC3, so that would be fun to see again, just with every unit! (Like, they slowly get stronger or have more health over time. Something like that.)(If it was terran, more health or something, if it is zerg, better attack, and so forth!)

Renaming units would be confusing, so we shouldn't do that!

I hope to god that SC2 does NOT make the 3d conversion. 3d graphics are over-rated. SC is beautiful, in my opinion, and it runs on most any PC. My PC can't even run Warcraft 3. All they need to do is up the resolution for SC2, and pretty it up some. Get the same good artists they always have, and try to keep it close to it's roots. Hopefully, no new races. Same races, with new units, abilities, etc. New game modes and capabilities too. And an awesome editor biggrin.gif .

I would like to see 3D, and then you can turn the screen and place things and twirl around them, but I was it to be more like the entrance and exit of the buildings can be at more spots.

If your comp can't take WC3, then it wont take SC2, because they are always looking for better in graphics!

I really hate squares for placement of buildings, so I hope they take them out and let you place your buildings anywhere you want. They should still offer a grid for the editor though.

The reason I don't want them making SC2 3d is not because I expect it to run on my PC. I realize my PC is a piece of censored.gif , and I realize, and hope, that Blizzard continues to improve on their graphics. However, I don't think that 3d is necessarily better. In my opinion, both 2d and 3d are equally good, depending on the circumstance. However, 2d allows greater detail, and significantly better artwork, at the cost of camera rotation/manipulation. Personally, from experience with the strategy games that do let you rotate your camera, I find it less intuitive and think it detracts from the gameplay experience. Think of it this way. In SC, it's possible to efficiently manage a large number of things at once, through hotkeying and fast mouse action. Now, add in the additional burden of camera manipulation, and there goes the potential speed right out the window. Plus, I think 3d strategy games tend to look uglier. I still like SC's look and feel more than WC3.

You know what is a good 3D game? Populous. It is so much fun! I mean, you can rotate the cameras and it is based on a world. The map is cool and everything works out great! Maybe if they made it more like that, then it would be pretty cool to play. I think 3D would be good if they stopped making it maps (As in parts of a world) and started making it an actual world that one can go around in circles for hours.

Opinion:

1. Starcraft 2 will never be as fun as Starcraft: Broodwar.

2. The only interesting thing will be graphics and storyline.

3. No limits(sucks and boring).

Starcraft is fun because you can actually find new things. If a Starcraft 2 came out you could do anything so what would be the point of discovery? There would be no bugs and such and it would probably be imbalanced too. It wouldn't have limits, it wouldn't have 256 players etc.

Starcraft 2 should not come out as 3D! Considering what linux has said, i personally believe that 3D terrain cuts the way a map maker can present a map and also making square terrain extremely screwed <--- (my name) Bounds may be stuffed plus This would limit many things (limitting in a BAD WAY) a map maker could do. This makes starcraft 2 just starcraft 2. Unlike starcraft it's a game that you are able to change the rules of.

Though i believe there should be more abilities.. but not those hard core global explosions. And also 3 more new races ! ( am i asking too much ? )

New races should be called: Screwed, Useless and ... Sessase! (sorry sessase if i made you realted to this topic... crazy.gif )

First Race: Screwed (based on the structure of the Hybrids in STF)
Hybrids will start off with floating workers but low preferial vision so they aren't used as dectection units. They will evolve into another unit one by one in a tech tree. And some individual expensive men can produce units themselves.

The Useless race would start off with a floating fortress. They are a plant race.
Still thinking of more ideas.

I wouldn't mind it in 3D, as long as it looks good. I mean, I bought a bloody 3D card thing so I can play W3 and I got little cartonny graphics.(Hope thats not the same with HF2).

If Sc2 does have a 3D graphic engine, I want it to be like Populous 3 type. Awesome game(graphics rn't that good but good 3D stuff).

Realism:

All I really wanna see is BCs and Wraiths wrecage falling to the ground and ppl paratchuting out. Than u can get range units to mow down the paratchuting ppl. I also wanna see ppl bail out of the veichles before it blows up.

Thats all for now I'll think of more ideas

Guys, having a 3D engine doesn't mean it wont have bugs. Trust me, their will be millions of people out there, so there will be people searching for these bugs.

Second, how does total freedom limit the possiblilities? That has to be the dumbest, self-contriidicting thing I have ever heard.
