to the people that say the Bible was translated wrong, have you heard of the dead sea scrolls? people found these scrolls in a chamber and when they were translated there were part of the Bible.

And yes I do believe in God

Hm..Any of these go unstable and uncontrolable (nuclear fusion and fission) will be on the lines of...well...this

And that is bad..bad bad bad...

Speaking about the Sun...Once the Sun reaches its peak (super red Giant and Red giant)and it explodes...it will create a Super Nova..Brighter than the sun..Brighter than anything you've ever seen before...and scientist concluded it would destroy the 5 fisrt planets orbiting the sun (Mercury, venus, EARTH!?!?!?!, mars, saturn)

but..good thing this will happen in 5,786,467,567 billions of years from now happy.gif

The sun will never become a super nova. Rest assured the sun will simply expand, cool, and fizzle out to a cold, dead, husk. No massive explosion. In fact, at it's peak of expansion, the earth will be engulfed, but mars will just be riding the edges of the sun. Also, if a nuclear fusion process goes bad, no big deal. No massive disaster. If something goes wrong or unstable, it just dies out. It's incredibly safe. Fission, on the other hand, isn't. Anyone for another Chernobyl?

LoL.. lets change this into a space topic.

Who thinks time travel is possible? Any comments thoughts and opinions? worm holes? Linux we need your expertise at space and science here = ="

make a new topic if yiou want to talk about that fool

Yes, i do beleive in God, but i also doubt my faith regually, i have no proof, it makes me think, but i srill believe in god

BTW: The old testimate is not be taken seriously, it has been greatly exagguratred over thousands of years, all for sake of making the story sound good.

Remember that all stories were passed on oraly, and people probally added parts to make it sound more amazing and god like.

For all you know the great flood could have just been a puddle!

Time Travel...lol...One thing i heard about time travel...the time machine could only travel back to the date the time machine was created blink.gif

Nah, you can't really travel back in time, in my opinion. You could attempt to slow it down, by either traveling close to the speed of light, or dangling above the event horizon of a black hole, but that's the best you're gonna get tongue.gif . Anyways, people make the mistake of assuming time is changing. It's not. Our perceptions of reality are. Our bodies and brains and surroundings are. Time can bend and warp, but it's still the same time. Just another dimension of space.

Well, if there truly was a god... he would not be as he is portrayed in the bible... examine this quote I picked up somewhere:

QUOTE
"If god truly has infinite power, could he lift a boulder that even he could not lift?"

I'm sure you've all heard how the bible says "God has Infinite Power; beyond our understanding." Infinite power is truly impossible, even for the almighty god.

Thus, the world is run by paradoxes.

And you think the universe just created itself? Infinity is impossible for us to understand. And so is the truth to the creation.

Edit: and as for time travel, read Einstein's Theory of Special Relativity.

Just to tell you, people can't just say how the universe began. We can't even get to mars yet and people are talking about how the universe began. Like what's up with that??

The universe is just way too big for anyone to understand yet. Maybe when people are able to travel to another galaxy far far away, we will find out how to use force powers and be able to tell how the universe began.

E = MC2

That states that, as you approach the speed of light, you gain mass, thus requireing more energy to move you faster. Eventually you must run out of energy ( Untill we find a perpetual motion machine).

I think thats relatively *pun intended* close to it...

time travel. I've thought about this. Hypothetically:

Let's say that date is January 5th 2006a, and you want to go back to January 1st 2006a. We are on the 'a' time line. However, what has happened has happened, and since matter is always changing (though the mass does not,) January 1st 2006a never existed. You can not go to a destination that does not exist, because you have no way of getting there.

However, if it were to be January 5th 2006a, and you wanted to go back to January 1st 2006b, that might be possible. The trick is to creating (or tapping into) a path (think parallel universe) that is going at exactly the same speed as our world, but is four days behind. Once you get there though, it would probably be wise to avoid parallel self.

So, that is my theory of going backwards in time.

as for going forward in time, we are always going forward, silly! tongue.gif

For my own opinions on time travel.

Since the universe is expanding, what we see things happen (which is what we call time - i think) occurs in a certain rate. But if the universe start to contract, the rate will change...

I'm not quite sure what i just said.. anyone understand?

In addition i think time travel can only go forwards.. you can't travel back in time. The faster you age slower so the time passing by you is going faster. Therefore you are going into the future. I can't think of a reverse of that .. if there is it would be time travel going back in time. But if you really could go back in time.. what you change creates another universe and wouldn't not affect the current one you came from.. so you can't basically change anything.

Note: This is what i think.. people may totally disagree with this.

Big Bang theory is finding more and more evidence that it is true. The only thing that hasn't been resolved is how humans turned up.

I've never really understood why people are so concerned with their roots. To an exstent, knowing where you came from is a good thing, but why anyone would be concerned with how we got here is beyond me.

I am guilty of this as well, but I just have to wonder why people care so much...
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Clan[SiP] on 2004-08-06 at 01:38:03
The problem with this question is that you ether do or you don't believe. Try as you might, you'll never convince someone who believes in god that he doesn't exist, and vice versa. And as for time machines, it'll never happen.
