Self explanitory *Reads the title*

Let's see what this gets.

No. Im atheist, but I think that there are many thinks what we cant understand.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Staredit.Net Essence on 2004-08-03 at 04:13:49
Hm..In Thinking This...I do belive In God...But Waht i can't understand is how we belive in God if there is no proof he existed...They say the bible Was translated wrong and Huge chunks of it are missing blink.gif
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Surtur on 2004-08-03 at 04:24:57
Well... I would not doubt that pieces of the bible are missing. There is such a huge change in comparison from the old testament to the new... That is the true flaw of the bible's preachings.

Hey, lets warp the two topic ("Do you believe there is a god?" with "Do u have a dog?") in one xD
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Mr.Camo on 2004-08-03 at 09:32:24
I'm atheist and anarchy. So really.. There's no point in my talking about this..

And Clokr_ would that make Dogma? Silent Bob!! XD
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Kame on 2004-08-03 at 10:32:30
I wanted to see Dogma. It was supposed to be really funny.

Oh, and yes, I do strongly believe in a God.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Nozomu on 2004-08-03 at 11:06:11
I don't believe in God, but I do believe in the principles he's supposed to represent (do unto others, etc.).
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Reever on 2004-08-03 at 11:15:21
I belive in no dog I mean god and I have no god I mean dog.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by CheeZe on 2004-08-03 at 11:31:31
I don't believe in god. It's too unlikely something as "powerful' as god would exist.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by PickleWeezle(U) on 2004-08-03 at 11:41:05
I'm agnostic, which isn't total aethiesm. But rather that God or a higher power cannot be proved, or disproved in any way; and one could spend their whole life in a search and still end up with nothing.

So basically, he could be there, or he can't.

I dont know and i guess we will findout when we die biggrin.gif

I thought about this topic for a while, and their is no answer. So, I guess I kinda do and I kinda don't! Personally, I like to think that everything on Earth was shaped somehow after god's look, we just make him man like to make him "superior" to other animals.

no i dont becaues if he was real the earth would be alot differnt beacues in the bible it says that he"killed" a hole town becaues of there greed, say he turned him into ashes or some thing, he would of stoped alot of things that have happend, the earth would be better if he was real, and if there is a god he better get his ass moving becues soon all humans will be dead, with the technolgy we have we will make some thing to kill a state or country and end up killing every last human being

Humans are no better then any other living thing on this planet only thing that seperates us from then are our brains and the power to use them.I am sure in the future we will find out what this "life" is about. Why is the universe created and how.

I'm afraid the nuclear bomb has already been invented. blink.gif

I read how god favored the offering of slaughtered animals yet hates slaughtered humans.I also read parts in the bible with a lot of rape and racism.

What kills the God argument for is when I think about the difference between living and dead matter. Guess what? There is none. Matter is matter, living or dead. Life and death are just ways of describing whether or not a human being can still function and interact with other humans. The idea of a "soul" implies that there is some sort of difference between living and dead matter, and for me that idea just doesn't hold water.

I'm Buddhist, so I don't believe in God. However, I never criticize those who do. Religion is an individual thing, and everybody's is a little different. So, to each his own, live and let live, blah blah blah.

Well, if there truly was a god... he would not be as he is portrayed in the bible... examine this quote I picked up somewhere:

QUOTE
"If god truly has infinite power, could he lift a boulder that even he could not lift?"

I'm sure you've all heard how the bible says "God has Infinite Power; beyond our understanding." Infinite power is truly impossible, even for the almighty god.

Thus, the world is run by paradoxes.

I believe the soul is not a scientific creation, rather, it is supernatural. Our minds are seperate from our bodies. Our minds adopt these bodies when we are born, the two cannot work without eachother. But if the body is destroyed, the soul is there... but weak and without the help of the Brain, you cannot think, remember, or anything one does in his head.

God...As to me..Does exist....But...As for Many..How can he Excist...There is no proof....just a book..some prayers...and People who "Have" seen god...But can this be true...What if there is no god...What if everything is a lie...What if all those people praying for..they are praying for nothing....

I think I'll go With the Butter pecan...I do like Ice Cream..

I believe in the possibility of God, but as yet have little evidence.
Though, for a God to exist as he does in some religions... just doesn't make sense to me.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by linux_junkie on 2004-08-04 at 04:22:43
I don't believe evidence is needed. As stated before, I don't believe in god. I do realize that it's a matter of faith, though. And faith needs no proof. You either believe or you don't. I have no proof in that reincarnation is true, but I believe it.

My response:

Yes God is Racist .. there is no black angels ever mentioned.

Yes God loves Rape .. he had an affair with Mary and she became pregnant.

Ok sigh..

I dunno if God really exists.. if he does show me a sign.

About the nuclear phsics... you older people than me mite know what I'm talking about but here's some explanation.

Nuclear Fission: The current most common nuclear process is nuclear fission. Capable of destroying any surrounding matter in time that is calculated with nanoseconds (i think its 0.000000000001 seconds) A single atom is fired towards an unstable matter such as uranium and holy **** there it goes. The Uranium splits and fires out more atoms to destroy more matter. That's how a chain reaction works ^__^ happy.gif

Nuclear Fusion: The opposite of Nuclear fission. Not yet researched, unsafe and completed by scientists. It fuses 2 hydrogen atoms with different proton amounts using extreme high temperatures .. e.g. the temperature at the centre of the sun. If this fusion is carried out on earth it will generate a spot on earth even hotter than the earth's centre itself. By fusing the atoms it releases so much energy and creates anti matter with properties opposite to matter that destroys everything it touches. These anti matters are often created during a super nova explosion. However scientists are trying to use magnets to prevent these atoms from touching the walls. If they do, we would be screwed not just because of the anti matter but also the heat generated could kill millions. A matter that hot with the size of a grain of sand is enough to kill any living matter with a 160 km radius. And plus unfortunately, the scientists currently know it would take more energy to run the power generator (if it was invented within 30 years) than the energy we would actually gain from it.

Hmm this is off the topic.. hope u guys enjoyed it!

The feeling that once you die....its an Endless Void of Darkness...Nothing at all...no peace..no solitude...nothing at all...your a rotting Carpace on the ground...

And Also the Feeling(off topic)Or Claustrophobics...Being in a coffin..and not being dead...Crappy feeling...6 feet under...nobody can hear u scream

Nuclear fusion, not yet researched? What? The magnets on the walls thing that you babbled about, is called a Tokamok, which has been built and used. Anti-matter is not created, just energy. For your information, nuclear fusion is incredibly safe, and has been produced on earth countless times. Hm... the earth still seems to be intact... why could this be?

Well, typically, the only byproduct of fusion is a denser atom, energy, and a neutron. The most common fusion proccesses, involve 2 hydrogen isotopes, typically the heavier ones, Deuterium and Tritium, which fuse to become Helium, energy, and a spare neutron. No cataclysmic destruction of earth. The only reason fusion isn't used to power our homes nowadays is due to the inefficiency of our current fusion techniques. Using current methods, we use more energy generating enough heat to create fusion than we gain from it. So, we basically lose energy. Once the efficiency of the process increases, however, you can expect fusion to replace all other energy generators.
