I think we should keep usergroups, their way more of initaitvie then minerals or anything else. I would like to have even more, maybe make elite a little lower like 1200, then have another level at 2500 then a huge one at 4000.
Maybe something like:
Banned -1
Members 0 to 299
Regulars 300 to 1199
Elites 1200 to 2499
Uberists 2500 to 3999
Gods 4000+
There's not much point having multiple ranks beyond Elite, considering how few people made it to Elite... (I was one of them!
)
Maybe some ranks between Regular and Elite might be good though.
I think only three would be necessary, if you really wanted to go with more than two...
Members: 0 to 299
Regulars: 300 to 949
Regulites: 950 to 1499
Elites: 1500+
We could add one at 4000+ that could be called the "DTBK" rank.
They are not important. Now that I am getting less active, I don't need any of the advantages the new status will give me.
Somewhat. Wanting to become a regular or get more bars encouraged me to post, but it never encouraged me to start spamming. And I would have still posted if I didn't get any rankings-up from it, as shown here. It's just a little encouragement for me.
As a relatively regular (~2 ppd) new member to the site, I was encouraged to see the number of green bars next to my name increase over time.
Now that I'm old and inactive, it'll be a long time before there's any change in that area again, so there's practically no motivation from "status gain" at all. I think it's pretty similar for most others who are not very active, since it's one of those things which goes up if you're constantly working towards it (whether as a goal or a side-effect), but it really doesn't change if you post less than once a week.
I never needed the extra PM space or whatever other benefits the statuses had (I didn't even know about the benefits for a long time).
In my mind, it's worth looking for an improved system in v5 - not that this one is bad, just that a better one would be... better
.
Thanks Jammed, we know they arent that important, it is one of those things that is there to motivate you for posts, and you might say after you get 1500 posts you get the idea of posting at SEN, but if you think about it, When you get to 1500+ posts the game is over, I hate when I play a game and beat it, then I almost never play it again, unless its a multiplayer online game. Think of SEN like a game, 1500 posts is the end for getting a higher rank, if theres another this may boost more activity for the elite statues users. idk, just what I was thinking.
Actually, you could look at it in a more optimistic light. Generally speaking, most of the Moderators or higher-ups we've had at SEN were Elites. So once you hit that 1500, that would be the next step - Modly powers!
Its actually kind of interesting for me now that I've hit the 1500. At first I stopped posting as much, but now I'm back to my usual 20 posts per day. And I'm no longer motivated by ranks.
Actually, IP and about 10 other people that have moderating powers are not elites. Some are jnot even at 1000 posts yet, idk where you saw this. But your wrong
Very blunt. Devlin's saying that after you become an Elite, and if you meet criteria, your chances to become a moderator or better increase.

Don't forget: you weren't the only one who lost posts from the hacker.
And I was mainly referring to:
DT_Battlekruser
(U)Bolt_Head
Chuiu
Coko[CK]
LegacyWeapon
EzDay281
BeeR_KeG
Perhaps you weren't around when they were Moderators. As for more recent people, both MillenniumArmy and KaboomHahahein have enough posts to be Elites.
And if you want to dissect my post, I said...

The aforementioned people used to be Moderators (with the exception of DTBK, who is obviously now an Admin).
So no, I'm not wrong.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I meant.
Let's not take into account that the reason that they were made moderators was because they were so active and helpful.
No No.
That would make sense.
(Btw I'm a elite and no where near a mod)
I really should block SEN from my internet or something, I post here too often for someone who quit.

Yeah, I really wonder why.

Isolated Purity had barely over 900 before the attack, I remeber passing him, then going back underneath him, He only went from like 950 to 900, he never had more than 1000 posts! Yes I realize some poeple lost a lot, but me and a couple other people that posted a lot in the Arts and Images forums lost a lot, RedNara for example.

Even if he didnt quit I honestly doubt Golden would be offered a mod position.

It couldn't possibly have anythign to do with me spending all of my time on this website calling everyone retards (Sicne that's what they are). No no.
It's because I quit three months ago. You got it down devlin. Also being a mod isn't so great here, they basically do the same thing I do, except after they insult your intelligence and be completely unreasonable your 20% closer to being banned from the website!
Ah hah!
Very helpful criticism.
Anyway, yes, the people on that list would be considered elites NOW. Besides EzDay, none of them were elites when they were hired.
See, even the Admin understands me, no j/k. I hope of all people the Admin would know, Not that posts make a huge difference on how smart you are to be able to be a good part of the staff of SEN

If you want to get technical, there were no Elites when they were hired.
But I see your point anyway.
Regardless, they still didn't have the post counts. (Well, maybe DT did)
I know its not a big deal but I just had to bring this fact to my side of this.
This is regardless of how many posts they lost, I know many people lost elite status posts. But here it is.

I dont melee, I've probably been to ever forum other then melee lol..
Still he didnt even get regular status and got DLDB. Moderator of Melee sure, but I still dont think hes active enough for DLDB.
