As far as other trilogies go, the Godfather was amazing. The Die Hard trilogy was also pretty fun, though the second wasn't very good. And of course there's Star Wars.

The Godfather? Nope, never heard of it. wink.gif

Actually come to think of it, I only liked two of the Godfather movies. I can't remember if it was the second or third that I didn't like.

I'd lay a wager it was the 3rd.

I LUUV the 2nd Godfather, personally.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by DevliN on 2006-11-15 at 17:01:54
CORRECT! Yeah it was the third that I didn't like. The first two were awesome. Now that I think about it, I didn't technically like the Godfather trilogy because I only liked two of them. The only trilogy that I really liked was probably the Lord of the Rings.

LOTR FTW! LOTR is the best trilogy out there [opinion closedeyes.gif ] no doubt
Report, edit, etc...Posted by MillenniumArmy on 2006-11-15 at 22:50:56
My pick would be Lord of the Rings.

X-men - it was alright, I just didn't quite like how things ended up in the third one. This movie would be good if you have no clue what X-men was prior to the release of the first movie.
Jurassic Park - Don't quite remember the second one. The only thing that was enjoyable about Jurassic Park was getting to see the dinosaurs eat people.
The Matrix - First one was a classic. Second one had cool fight scenes but that's about it. Third one, some cool graphics except for when Neo and Mr Smith have their final combat. It looked so cheezy. The last two, especially the last one, had bad storylines though.
Austin Powers - Funny, great movies. Still not as memorable as LotR.
Mission Impossible - Didn't quite like the second one. First and third ones were good I guess.
Blade - Only saw like the first one or the second one, I can't remember. But from watching that movie, this movie really didn't seem that great to me.
Saw - I only watched the third one a few weeks ago. I was told about the previous two. Not quite fond of what happens in the saw series though.
Terminator - First two were great. Third one... only thing good about it was that the bad terminator was a hot chick smile.gif
The Fast and the Furious - I don't think you can call this a trilogy since they really have nothing to do with each other, particularly the last one. But also, I haven't seen the last one.

Pinned because it seems to be a reasonably popular topic, and a pretty general discussion about trilogies.

I would have but star wars is not a trilogy. A trilogy is only three movies in the seris.

Star Wars was origionally meant to be a trilogy, it has more then a right to be up there.

Not to mention the fact that Star Wars popularized the 'film trilogy' market.

Do the math. Origional Movies. 4, 5, 6 (lets count them. 4 = 1, 5 = 2, and 6 = 3)

The Prequils 1, 2, 3 (lets count them 1 = 1, 2 = 2, 3 = 3)

Now that we've got that cleared up, Star Wars can be counted as 2 trilogy's

Star wars is a trilogy that happened to have 3 prequels come out afterwards. If you find anyone old enough to see the originals as they came out to say that star wars still isn't a trilogy, I'll be amazed. It's understandable if you don't comprehend that, but I guess I've been around enough star wars fans.

I was torn between stars wars and Lord of the Rings, since they're both amazing, but I voted for LotR. Star wars was better, but LotR was more fun to watch.

So then why did you add Indiana Jones, Jurassic Park, and Austin Powers? All three of those have a fourth addition coming out in the near future. tongue.gif

Yes but when you add those two groups together it is 6, this is why he probably didnt put it up there. Yes maybe it does have a right to be up there. And before it was added t the poll you could have just voted for other, then say Star Wars.

They did just vote Other and say Star Wars. When I added "Star Wars" to the poll, I moved 1 vote to it for each "Star Wars" I saw in the topic's posts. biggrin.gif Good times!

Ah, but Episode IV simply goes by Star Wars. Therefore, it goes to reason that 4-6 be called The Star Wars Trilogy. We're just going to forget about the prequels, won't we... Precious?

It wouldn't even be worth putting up there, but technically Dune is a trilogy now as well (Dune, Dune Messiah, & Children of Dune). I actually really enjoyed the Dune series by the Sci-Fi Channel. They put a lot of effort into it, and the acting and effects were top notch. Why did anyone even mention The Matrix? You guys sure know how to leave a bad taste in my mouth!
Report, edit, etc...Posted by DevliN on 2006-11-17 at 22:56:04
The Matrix is up there already. And it was mentioned in not-so-flattering terms on the first page of this thread.

I vote Star wars.

Notice How alot of cartoons have little reenactments of the darth vader v. Luke fight. No thats not the reason i voted star wars, lol I just Like the trigolgy better than others.

The Origional Star Wars seemed to just flow perfectly with the story, it's not really the special effects or the lightsaber duels(actually it is for most ppl) but it was more the way the story seemed to piece togeather so nicely.(To me anyway)
