Lawl. Okay, so, I did these simple triggers wrong?

Condition
Always
Switch 1 is Set.

Action
Set Energy Point's for all units owned by player 1 at anywhere.
Preserve Trigger.
Switch 1 is Cleared.

The switch is for a seperate trigger in order to create the Hallucinations.

i didn't mean the way you did it, since hallucinations are awkward when it comes to conditions i just thought that there might be a different way of doing it.

and unless you're setting that switch to set again it's not constantly setting to 100%

I'm not really sure what you mean, but I doubt, but it might be possible to edit they're energy...

You can't modify both hallu's and broodlings' energy via triggers. It's a different type of energy.
There is a way to create broodlings that live forever, though. I am not too sure anymore, has been a long time since I did it the last time, but it should be one of the following:

- preplace (doubt it)
- create unit (most probable one)
- create unit w/ props (might work too, dunno)

I remember doing it with placing it with Props. That is probably the way to make it live forever. Hallucinations are impossible I beileve.

I experimented with hallucinations for a little while for one of my maps. I had a boss that creates about 15 hallucinations and whenever he creates more, it would destroy the others, so there wouldn't be too many.

Unfortunetely, the set energy to 0% didn't work (I think set it to apply to the specific unit), but kill the specific unit worked for the hallucinations too.

I'll try set energy to 0% for all units and see if that works. If so I just made that boss a little tougher, since I had to create hallucinations of plain hydralisks, while the boss was a hunter killer with ALOT more hp.

PS: If you create broodlings with 0 energy through props, they live forever.

This is all tested:

You cannot edit the energy/life timer of a broodling or hallucination using triggers.

Broodlings that are created with "Create Unit" have their life timer just stay at 0 and live forever. Spell-made, preplaced, and "Create Unit with Properties" broodlings have finite life spans, out of 180. Using "set invincibility status" doesn't change the fact that broodling made with "Create Unit" has no life timer.

Hallucinations that are created act just like broodlings. However, because you need to use CUWP to make them hallucinations, there is no way to make a hallucination last forever. Their timer is 135.

Modifying unit health for "any unit" as well as the name of the unit, in my test a "terran ghost," both modify the health of the hallucination there.

Generally, hallucinations do not fufill conditions of triggers, but do act as the unit when referred to under actions. "Modify Unit Energy" doesn't work because that trigger refers to the energy used for spells, not for life timers.

Fritfrat, are you sure that creating them with 0 energy is what does it? I thought you had to create them without properties (I know this method works) and they just started at 0 energy and never died. This is why I imagined that hallucinations couldn't be created like that because you have to create hallucinations with properties.

he said that they are created with 0 energy, not to create them with 0 energy.

i hope that statement made sense pinch.gif

trigger conditions wont affect hallucinations but they can have locations centered around them though.

the bar under the hallucinations and broodlings isn't energy (it's their life timer, has no spells, and only goes down). if you want to make broodlings live forever, just create it with 'create unit' and not 'create unit with properties'.

Well, I never tested this, I heard from someone that this worked.
