Staredit Network -> Portal News -> Clan Policy Update
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Mp)MinigameEast on 2006-12-20 at 13:02:15
i never seen a person take internet games and forums so seriously... this makes me want laugh so hard that it makes me shed a tear out of my eye.

"if you dont make maps, recruit members, update on posting, and etc. then were just going wipe you out" man this is like a chore to do.

why hi there Saddam!

or the clan DIES?!

A clan that would die without an SEN forum was never alive in the first place.

I don't agree with this policy. It seems to encourage mass amounts of low-quality maps. How about "visible progress" on maps rather than maps/mods released? Because I know most of [MM] is working on total conversions that take a lot longer than one month to complete.

Methinks a TC would constitute "major and substantial", no?

This policy was always more directed at mapping clans anyway. Modding progress is a lot harder to gauge.

Good idea. I have a feeling Clan (U) isn't up to requirements.

Oh noes... we have to post... 3 times a week *gasp*

Ah well, rules have been made nothing you can do about it. Kupo!

I half agree with this, if you don't post, what's the point of having a forum. If you don't make maps, what's the point of having a mapping clan. If you don't have members what is a clan? A clan is essentially a group, and a group can't be a group unless, well, it's a group of people, as opposed to one or two.

However, you can't draw a thin line for this. If there's no clan activity, delete them, simple.

It's interesting that Mp) is the one complaining for the most part. Says something about the clan methinks.

Dead serious. I also agree heavily with what Voyager said.

These rules are getting more and more strict, but hey, im up for the challenge.

1 Map per 30 days, that is a nice incentive DTBK, good job.

Posting rules, double bonus.

Member rules, not so happy about. You see xM is more public map making, I aim to help map makers progress and become better, some of them don't have SEN accounts and when they make them they often don't know what to say.

But I guess you are just seeding out the bad clans.

Honest opinion?
Mp) will go soon probably
Oo will go eventually
(U) has active members, good maps but lack on the posting part -- sort of lame that they will just post and stay on SEN, but whatever works.
Chef is new so they have plenty of posts, quite a lot of SEN using members, but their maps arn't as good / frequent.

Overall, I think we will only see maybe 1 clan loss from this first audit.

Agreed, but what is the point of hosting a clan on SEN if your members don't have SEN accounts? Kinda defeats the purpose, doesn't it?

No it doesn't. I mean, i see your point DT.. but we use our forum to communicate time to time. Why would we lose our forum because of not make a map within your time limit. This is a good motivator.. but i don't see why we should lose it over not complining to one of those rules. We have been very loyal to sen and have produced many maps. We post new ideas, member post going away, Solve problems (if any)., etc.. Clan oo is going through a rough time right now and i consider you to re think these rules.. if not than we will try our hardest to continue, if we fail.. than.. I have nothing to say.

Yes, but they aren't being completed. See, you require that we have a substantial project within the past three months. It might take longer than that to complete one.

Otherwise:

* An active member list accurate to within 14 days of the audit including, but not limited to all active members with SEN accounts, their SEN user names, and a link to their profile. Clan members without listed SEN usernames are not recognized by Staredit Network as clan members when counting to membership and activity quotas.

Makes sense.

* Five members active (logged in) in the 30 days before the audit, two of which are of Regular status or better.

That shouldn't really be hard for any clan...

* At least 3 posts in the Clan Forum in the 7 days before the audit.

I could see problems with this... We've all seen [MM] have spells of inactivity...

* Clear demonstration of a lack of misbehavior in the clan forum.
* Clear demonstration of the relative unity of the clan.

Again, these shouldn't be a problem.

Overall, not a bad policy.

Like I said, it was more directing at mapping clans. I can give [MM] a little leeway when it comes to TCs, as I realize that they are certainly more work than any map.

I generally agree. Sites have to have projects being continually produced, and have to have a few active SEN members, and have to be active.. Go no bad clan movement!

I never thought to look for a reply after making a post on here, lol.
DTBK, what I ment was that they sign up, they might get a post or two, but don't really know what to say to other people. However I re read the whole thing and I agree with these rules more now.

No, but they had planned to move for a while I think, judging by kenoli's lack of caring when this came out and the fact they got a forum within days of Maplantis being made.
