Seems like you are saying that you made StarEdit...
I DIDN'T make ANY staredits, I only made 2 patches via MPQdraft.

Staredit also can't detect what a units life is at =/ very annoying.
Things cannot be done with triggers is star forge cannot be done AT ALL
That's not a problem of STAREDIT, but of STARCRAFT.
To fix such things you need to mainly edit STARCRAFT.EXE (takes ages....I mean A G E S of hacking with a disassembler) AND ANYONE who wants to PLAY your map must download it then. I, myself, will not.....
The DLLs are actually files like EXEs that cannot be run by doubleclicks, but its' FUNCTIONS can be used by any other EXEs/DLLs
Both DLLs and EXEs contain RESOURCES:
* dialogs (usually NOT including main window)
* bitmaps/cursors/icons
* string tables that could change from language to language (usually)
* Menus (including context, excluding some special-styled ones)
* Shortcuts lists (usually only if they are language-dependant)
* ANY other stuff that programm's author needs to be stored as a resource

hate always having to Copy a P12 Trigger or loading a P12 trigger,They should have added some more stuff to SCXE
That is a problem of STAREDIT.EXE's BINARY CODE, not data section.
Soooo, it can only modified by disassembler, debugger and then - assembler. [Legal notice: well, actually, doing so means breaking laws...]
For further information about THAT ^^^, one may contact HACKERS like mr. Lelik, but NOT ME !!!!!!!!!!!
It is only allowed in DAT files to set ANY unit's flag: does it ALWAYS belong to player12 (placable only for player 12) or CAN be owned by any players (and placable only for players 1..8)

SCXE is good, and better than StarForge. SCXE isn't better than StarForge because of the starcraft classic grid lock. Although, StarForge is 3rd party, and has codes better than scxe. I think SCXE can man up and do better than StarForge and with less errors.
Hey, you should first decide "SCXE is good, and better than StarForge"
-OR- "SCXE isn't better than StarForge"
In THAT manner Sforge is BETTER because it ALLOWS to switch between
snapping and not snapping to grid... and it allows to snap units to grid.
So does SCMdraft 2.
And about errors..... SF is not THAT buggy....
I don't use it mainly because:
* it does NOT use ISOM section so it causes errors (in that case use SCMdraft)
* it works SLOWLY on my pentium-133 NON-MMX, 40MB RAM
* it doesn't fit into 640*480, the only >72Hz mode for my video card ;(
(that^^ is also the reason why I NEVER use SCXE, instead I use my ultimedit....... which is ~60% same as SCEPMPQ ('Zap patch') ..... and which I still haven't uploaded.... )

Well, technically, what he has mentioned is very basic hex-editing
Mostly, I did NOT ... (see above, about resources)
ANY OTHER SUGGESTIONS ON SCXE?too small/too big windows.... clearer description of colorcodes... a.s.o.
