I remember the days when there were rockin maps without all this extra paraphernalia...maybe I'll try to do something like that. I haven't the patience though

The editors just make it easier on us, the non-hardcoders.
I mean, sure, you could do it in binary, but the whole idea behind an editor is to make it easier on the user.
