Staredit Network

Staredit Network -> Miscellaneous -> Starforge VS SCXE

That just has been the biggest waste of internet space ever...

0 Damage = 1 damage

2, 4, and 8 speeds doesn't "Pwn" either. It would be useless if idiots weren't amused by it.

Scxe Cause

-Faster Triggers(easier to work with)
-who needs square terain anyways(except bounds)
-starforge has more problems(i cant even open it)
-Scxe has a lot of terrain also(so does SF but i dont like it)
-Scxe still has almost all the units(i dont use sprites)
-ive used Scxe all my life and i still think its the best(version 2.5)
-The only thing id get Starforge for is the unit hp settings(like 5/4 and 99/30 stuff like that)
-All in All Scxe is easier to work with better stuff and a lot fo good choice terrain

Not if you can type fast and know the syntax for the SF Triggers.

Square terrain can be applied in many cases to spice up maps, have you seen the StarForge Terrain threads? People are creating some awesome 3-D SkyScrapers and Zelda like towns with StarForges Square Terrain Pallette.

I'll give you this, but I don't have any troubles opening it.

What do you mean a lot of terrain? SCXE uses the same terrain tiles as normal StarEdit.

Compared to StarForge and SCMDraft, I would have to disagree... And you should use sprites, they can make the map look so much nicer.

Now I personally like using SCXE more because it's just what I prefer. I usually do my StarForge work at the very end of my maps, and save it in StarForge and never open it in SCXE again if I need to edit something. It's the surest way I can get to not screwing something up completely...

That's pretty much the same as I am.

When I make my maps, it goes SCXE Alternative, more Alternative, even more Alternative, Recycle Bin, New Scenario, SCXE Alternative, Alternative, StarForge, SCMDraft (To fix doodads if needed), PROEdit, Battle.net.

Once again, SCXE & StarForge are best if used together.

Starforge and scxe cannot work together unless your making a map that doesn't have sprites, stacks etc. Scxe just deletes invalid units. If you think scxe triggers are fast I feel sorry for you, to select a protoss scout in your trigger you have to click on 3 folders and find it. Now imagine what you have to do if you want 50 different units!!! Using starforge would save you a whole lot of time, thanks to copy and pasting.

the only problem i have with sf is that sometimes when i open up a map with scxe the strings get all messed up like comments get switched and switch names get duplicated after editing it with sf

Feit, SCXE and StarForge CAN work together, all you do is add the sprites later. They are for spicing up your map later on. Add them right before you protect it or show someone. Easy as that. I use SCXE for Terrain (Isom) and StarForge for Square.

Starforge is better. The end.

There's no way you can actually compare a modification to a completely seperate and superior editor.

Well I voted SCXE, reason being I can place units without waiting 5 seconds for them to appear due to SF being a horrible resource user. Also SF deletes the tops off of doodads if you go back to SCXE which is a little annoying, so I only use SCMD2 and SCXE for the map, and then the final touches which neither can do in SF.. oh and some terraining. The SF terrain editing is slightly better than the SCMD2 for square terrain but I don't trust it for editing most of the other stuff.
