2D, for the most part. Classics are all 2D, and some soon to be classics are also 3D.

I like 3d and all but... I really miss 2d games... I mean, Everybody loves the mario games!

I don't really care. 2D and 3D games are both fun. I will have something against 3D if Starcraft 2 is 3D. A 3D Starcraft 2 will have to be awesome to earn my respect. The editor would suck, because it would take way longer to place terrain and the max supply would be like 50 or 75. Do you know how long it takes to make one small crumby map for Quake III? Weeks to months. Many go blind before making a good, large map. Each type of games has good and bad sides. 2D games have less lag and allow players to have more stuff. However, 2D games cannot compete with 3D games when it comes to graphics. 3D games have great graphics. However 3D games are no good when it comes to RTS games. To keep the games from going 1/10 a frame per second, the supply limit would be greatly reduced.

Unless 3d can be PERFECTLY Smooth, and no blocky things ANYWHERE, I'd like 3d better. Actually, I like 2d or Cel Shading.

ok i think 3D is better canuse its kool and crap bot if ONLY SOME ONEWOLD MAKE THE RAGDOLLS SMOTHER (ragdolls r used to dierect movement of 3D crap )

i like a lot of 3D games...but to me...2D games are short...and good ones are hard to come by these days.

2d games are good you know like Street Fighter 3rd strike showed the world 2D fighting is still good.. I love 2D better the graphics look better to me.

Bad thing is, 2d is all pixels. Pixels are bad for your eyes and causes ppl to get glasses...

2d classic games are great, but i like alot of the new 3d games, so i geuss its kinda 50/50 for me

it depends on the game like SC=2D and Halo=3D

3D is a lot better than 2D even though some 2D games are really fun

I love 2D old games not just old school 2D but new 2D games like the new mario pillball for GBA and R-Type has just great graphics it gives a 3D feel cuz i found out something

3D ofcourse! I hate all the sidescroll games because all you can do is to go forward and that's boring to me, atleast make the game fake 3D.

I agree with you there! But I prefer the game controls/camera angles to be perfect. A good 3d game with bad controls/camera angles would probably rock in 2d.

i like both...but...as i've said...there aren't any long side scrolling games...but one thing:


FOR WHAT SYSTEM? it matters. gameboy has good side scrolling games...but has crap 3d games...and vice versa for consoles (in most cases...)

I like'm both. What about Metroid 3 (supermetroid) That is the coolest side-scrolling game ive played, and freakin long.

I voted 3D.

At first I thought i wouldn't like Warcraft3 because it was 3D. And units would be alot harder to handle. But Blizzard did an good job and it feels like normal gameplay like you expect from a RTS game. And u can do alot more with 3D units. So yeah, I like 3D better.

I like 2d more. Characters are more expressive with pixels.

Good point, actually... 3D tend to be more "realistic" but doesn't focus so much on emotions...

2D was easier to screw with and realism was quite a minor factor

3-D owns 2-D!! 3-D u can actually kinda feel how far u have to go and in 2-D u only go sideways and theres no fun to that

I voted 3-d because 3d is alot better for most games, but 2d still owns some games, I still say 3d though, where would we be without 3 dimensions, flat blowing in the wind...

Depends what you mean with 3D anyway... Super Mario RPG was 3Dish and it made its job as a good game.
