If possible:
Add a toggle switch for automated..anything.
Such as unzip or file path etc....

Nice idea SWW. If this works I'll be sending "Good maps" frequently.

you will definitely save allot more than 5 seconds by using this program
i tested browsing trough the map sections on this site, i have 2mbs and it takes about 3 seconds to load a new page.
and unless you got the browser fixed on downloading directly to maps\ you definitely use allot of seconds either browsing to the maps folder before download or to open your download and sc folder and move it over after, than to just click and download instantly
i might also include auto unzip, autorun program install files. and maybe a new version checker

Oh, so its not a website, it just uses the maps that you download from other websites and grabs information, and automatcly navigates to maps directory.

This is VERY cool then!

Report, edit, etc...Posted by RexyRex on 2004-09-22 at 20:43:26
What exactly is like a newgrounds portal? Please be more specific.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Staredit.Net Essence on 2004-09-22 at 20:46:15
"X" Post a Map "Y" at the "Portal" (They get accepted or banned) and the get automaticly classed in section by the computer....

Is newgrounds the only site with that system? Also, newgrounds is a site not a program.

Hacks are so :censored:ing stupid! I used to use Hacks for about 2 weeks then quit. After that I hated hacks, I kick a few hackers' asses on SC before. I prove to them that hacks won't help. Hated those sons of :censored:es, though.

Hmmm, i'd say i am impressed, though it would be limited! Still you can't enable people to link from other sites, but maybe allow new sites to be entered into the scripting if they script their websites, or FTP to allow such downloads.

it should just be a GUI frontend to a SQL database wink.gif

Lol most people are just arguing about if its a website, just another download database, what i think bout it is that its a program to download QUALITY maps from and sorts them into the proper directory instead of having to move the map yourself into it?

SWW what if some newb just edits maps to rig, or does some other dumb stuff? Will the maps all be overwritten with bad versions?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by .Coko[CK] on 2004-09-26 at 13:22:33
Maybe the list should not allow remote access, and so he checks all that comes in, like is done here?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by RexyRex on 2004-09-26 at 23:27:44
The overwrite possibilty could be extremley dangerous.
I suggest if there is a map with the same filename it would be auto-renamed to, "Map[2].scx" if it was originally "Map.scx."
Report, edit, etc...Posted by SoftWarewolf on 2004-09-27 at 04:59:14
all maps submitted will be verified..
Report, edit, etc...Posted by .Coko[CK] on 2004-09-27 at 11:19:45
There you are then, problem solved, will you unprotect them first to view them or expect them in uprotected mode, else who knows what might happen!
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Paella on 2004-09-28 at 17:16:01
also be careful if maps are automatically renamed because they might become invalid.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by .Coko[CK] on 2004-09-28 at 18:05:04
Actually if they are unprotected, will you protect them? Like in the benefit of all the map makers who sent their stuff in?

I don't think you should do that... What if some mappers choose for their maps to be open source?
