Ok heres a question for everybody. Does anyone know how to take the words out of a MP3 or WAV? Like if I have a regular song with words and music but I want to have just the music. Does anyone know a program?

i dont think its possible unless there is another version of the song without them.

why does everyone post in my topics closedeyes.gif

Unless the file has multiple layers, one with the talking/singing in it, you cant get the music... or at least I dont think so...

Here are the sound files smile.gif
2 is stereo 400kb
3 is mono 200kb
4 is stereo (better) at like 900kb
so you choose happy.gif

If you wanted it even smaller, its gonna sound like hell but I can do it with a different program w00t.gif

thanks but one wierd thing. i have an old windows millenium downstairs and it has sound recorder on it. is it possible to save the files to a disc that contain sound recorder and load it onto my computer?

I doubt it... Unless you get all the files that the sound recorder program needs and it probably has a few registry keys as well...

Strange, from what i remember, all Windows from Win98 upwards contain Sound Recorder, you searched your computer for it?

Yes, he did. It was most likley deleted becase windows HAS SOUND RECORDER.

The problem most likey is he searched for 'Sound Recorder' which will give you only one result to a shortcut in your start menu, which he probably deleted. The best way to check if you have it is going through your windows system folder. Or go to Start Menu > Run > sndrec32.exe.

dang, its not that hard to find! just go to Start>Programs>Accessories>Entertainment>Sound Recorder
it should be there

We have already said that, and he told us it's not there. Just do what Stealthy said, becuase that is the name of the .exe, not the name of the shortcut.

Convert MP3 <---> WAV <---> OGG via LAME codec/de-codec (free, command-line)

Convert WAV ---> MIDI files via WIDI program
Convert MIDI ---> WAV via WinAMP as decriped above.

Convert WAV ---> Mono 16-bit 22kHz for better SC compression via WindowsSoundRecorder (search for "sndrec", SOME versions of WINXP -->Might<-- not have sound recorder, especially cracked ones..........)

You may use NeroSoundTRAX from NeroBurningROM package,
OR SoundForge istead of SndRecorder.

hey i did that run thing that stealthy told me to do and it popped up but now i need to create a shortcut. i had to restore my comp to an older date because of viruses but that couldnt have delteted it right?

hey i created the shortcut but can anyone give me a quick tutorial on how to compress?

You can go to File > Properties > Convert Now and change it's attributes. You have to change it to a 16-bit because Staredit doesn't support 8-bits. If you save it as 16-bit, it compress more then a 8-bit when you import it into a map too.
