A Cool Editor would act be a Starcraft X-Tra except when you open it, it has the functions of starforge for terrain and the protection of PROEdit. With this, we wouldn't have to download so many programs.

SA_Max71... you seem like the wrong person for this job, considering the questions you've asked in the past. And you seem to think that the features contained in StarForge are copyrighted by Heimdal. So what, you can't ever make another editor that uses terrain? Your logic is idiotic. Not only can those things not be copyrighted because StarCraft belongs to Blizzard Entertainment, but you can't copyright a basic feature a program has... I'm wondering if you are even capable of making such an editor.

Assuming that you could, it would have to be like SCMDraft 2, with the few things StarForge has that SCMDraft 2 doesn't. You'd want to make it easy to view what text looks like (including overlaps) from inside the editor. You'd also need a text based trigger edotir that works like a real programming language, not the half-assed ugly thing that is in StarForge.

lol... I thought I posted this before, but apperently not. I made this thread because in theory, I would like to make a map editor myself. This does not mean I will/know how.

EDIT: Nice try on trying to make me act like Idol before he [wonders] left [/wonders]

But SCMDraft is still in development (and afaik StarForge as well?) so why not just wait until development is complete?

There isn't much what can't be done in SCMDraft nowadays anyhow. If you want a complete editor, you could help by come up with a list of features it still lacks.

take a good look at what date I made this thread. before I made this thread, I had not seen hiem in at least 3 months, so I assumed he had given up on starforge. besides, I made this thread to see what other people thought smile.gif . Anyways, because it would take me so long to program it, either starcraft would be useless, or a even better map making program would be out - one that would make other map making programs useless.
