Bounds are a unoriginal way for unoriginal map makers to be lazy and make maps. Bound's titles have even lost their original purpose. Lets go back to the very first bound.
Snowbound by KcKKryptonite (stolen version by omg who else Raging_Raptor infamous map stealer)
In this map, snow and bound were one word because Snowbound is a word.
Snowbound - adj. - to be shut in or blocaded by snow.
The idea of the map was that you are escaping the snowbound area. Same except new map and title but same idealistc title in Ice Bound. Nowadays, Bound is just a tag which means "hey this map blows" I mean really, if you make an obstacle map you could give it some sort of plot or reasoning
I'll give out some ideas I have had before
"Look Im in the insane asylum and Iv'e broken out of my cell!

they activated the electric floor traps"
"Lets go Indiana Jones style and get some treasures from the ancient temple! Oh

, arrows and traps good god!"
"Hey I am Mario, give me princess peach back bowser"
"Muwhahaha, get through my traps and then defeat me and you may have her"
"W00t Im a bear, oh

its hunting season and these technological hunters have lots of new traps, crap!"
"

, I gotta get out of hell, but these flames are dangerous! Oh no the devil wants to fight me!"
"Crap, Im a firefighter and I have to fight my way into this burning building and out to save these people!"
"I'm a soldier and I have to infiltrate this base and avoid the traps, set the bomb, then escape before it blows up!"
These are pretty corny as I have given them but these stories could give bounds a new flush of gameplay. and DROP THE BOUND TAG, same with RPGS, what real game rpgs have rpg at the end. Is it Chrono Trigger RPG? or Final Fantasy RPG? or
RPG ANYTHING? NO, ok my rant is done, just listen to D-Von.
