Starcraft is old.
Map making has plenty of live in it, and it's what keeps the SC community alive (that and progaming).

Based on how blizzard made warcraft 3 and WoW, i bet they'll also do a terrible job on SC2 as well...

Why don't you go write a fourmal e-mail/letter to blizzard about what was bad and what was good, no offence.

Even though starcraft is old, its still fun and challenging. As well as one of the most time wasting rts game. Its still fun, why? Its because of all the unlimited strategy and things you can do with it. Well with in time when all things that have been found and do-able cool things you can do to it will soon to be exalusted. Its going to get boring.
When,IF, SC2 comes out we shall do the same thing to sc! RTS are one of the funnest and most time wasting type of games.

I will not lie starcraft is getting boring, With a few bugs. Which blizzard should try and fix. If it was not for Sites like this one. I think starcraft would die. Use map setting keep the game going, Sure you get map stealer and complete prats who rig maps. Suck's to be them. People like Bolt,Tux, Yoshi and many other great map makers keep the Use map setting side of starcraft going, as long there are people who can make good maps, I think starcraft will stay alive a little while longer.

But remember this people, Blizzard can make money from the warcraft world. Remember these games companys dont really give a monkeys uncle what you really think of them or what you think of there games. All they want is the money, If they can think of a game or use an old game of there's and re-amp it to todays standerds and make money, I bet you they wont even think twice about it. They will go in for the kill. Make the game and make money.

As i have said many times befor in chats, MSN chats, Aim chats to my friend's, and i will say here. If i knew how to contact blizzard i would about this idea of mine. Which i doubt they will listion to, Ill most likely get a auto-email. But tis wroth a try for it.
My idea is for blizzard to take a small group of people, Who have complete power over the starcraft world again. They will be in charge of pacths, New maps, New missions. another Exp pack pephaps? So on so forth, But i can really see that happing.

Ya, you can contact them in their forums. However, I doubt even a blizzard employee goes there, considering people are complaining about technolochical issues.

Yea, because all the melee maps are the same on battle.net. Making maps is what makes sc so fun.

Ya, There isn't any good melee maps that I like anymore, Plus, hardly anyone does like #vs#Computers anymore, plus, I mostly play WW3 Soviet Enemy on USWEST thats the only game that I find the funnest on SC right now.

Actually more people on battle.net play melee than UMS. It's just that they're just a bunch of ignorant people who care about nothing but just killing.

I would do that but the thing is blizzard never listens!

They're just stupid selfish people who care about nothing but themselves. Everytime people give them input they're like "o well screw you. It's fine the way it is." Even when i ask them about problems with my SC, they dont give me a straight and reliable answer. They're like "Well first download the latest patches. If you still have problems, try uninstalling starcraft. If that doesnt work, upgrade your computer..." disgust.gif

I think starcraft will never die, its still wildly popular in Korea for one and also played alot in US/Europe. Not to mention it'll run on just about every personal pc out there so there are still people buying it like its a "new" game. And then there are people like me that have played and loved playing it for about 7 years :-). I'll admit melee got old after a while, mostly when less people played good melee maps and ladder got old as soon as it was cheater dominated... but UMS... well... UMS is FOREVER cool1.gif . I've got over 2k UMS maps, I don't think I could ever get bored of SC... just over Christmas break I played Civilization World over 70 times(a somewhat popular UMS on West which takes a few hours, you advance from Stone Age to Nano Age) as well as made some new versions of it to fix bugs from previous ones. Anyways there are tons of fun UMS maps and there not ALL too big for b.net... plus nothing is too big for b.net if u can direct people to a website to dl the map or you play with them alot. I mostly play with the same 200 or so people on west... so I can almost always find a game or person to play :-). Anyways SC won't be boring until there are 10 people on battle.net and 9 of them speak korean, hehe....

You're right about all that stuff. Thing is people are still leaving starcraft so they can play the so called superior and succesor game of starcraft, WcIII. Those people are brainwashed and messed up; we need to save em.

I am a proud owner of Starcraft: Brood War and Warcraft III, but WC3 is no replacement for SC. I played it exclusively for a week during Winter Vacation, and I came running back to my copy of SC. SC is better because it runs way better on my old ass comp.

I think BW will be able to hold out untill SC2 is released.

Yes starcraft gets VERY boring seeing the same thing over and over again, just take a month or two off like i did (4-5) months now im back and revitalized.

Starcraft Broodwar is still one of the best game!! w00t.gif
I think that UMS are always the same and often boring but it s so fun to creat your own map to push starcraft to his limit. By the way melee games are cool too because we always face new player and the challenge is always different ( i know that this is a majority UMS player site but anyway)

Just hope for few change and wait for a starcraft 2

What i find most fun about SC is getting online and be able to game with some good buddies and friends. It's not nearly as fun if i play with ordinary public newbies who understand nothing but mass games tongue.gif
