You should only write your code so you can understand it.
If it's open-source, you're really screwed.
Sheemps: $rofl and $wtf are much better variables. Also, $gogo is a popular one for executing a MySQL query.
I have both of those too. And it's not open source, nor do I want it to be, but if anyone gets their hands on it they'll never get it
If map triggers are considered a programming language, then i'd say that's my actual favorite programming language
Well, when you trigger maps you think like a programmer (if your good at it).
The technicalities of it, whether or not it meets the definition of a language don't really matter, it's still a nice intro.
But ya, I should really get started learning some C#, so far half of the things I know you people wouldn't even consider to be a programing language.
ADDITION:
From hearing good programers talk, we have our favorites, but the best one depends on the job your doing, as BSTRhino said.
Nobody likes Oberon? Or Pascal?
Anyway, I voted Java, because it's quite powerfull. C++ is good too.
There are some really obscure programing languages.

My sophomore year i took AP Computer Science and we learned Java. However, i was a hardcore slacker back then and couldn't remember jack squat. I was too scared to take the AP test cuz i knew I would've gotten a 1 or something.
The best one is the one you know how to do the best.
I voted VB... It's the most fun to use, And it's alot easier to use then C++.
