Eh, cops can pretty much do whatever the hell they want, and theres not a whole lot you can do about it. Even if you did take one to court, who is the judge going to believe: a bunch of "punk ass kids" or a police officer? For obvious reasons, he'll probably go with the cop, so if I were you, I wouldn't try to take him to court, you'll just make it harder for yourself.

As for whether you getting arrested is constitutional or not, it doesn't really matter due to facts stated above. You got screwed. You were pretty much in the wrong place at the wrong time; and the kicker of it all is: you cant really do anything about it.

As for your probation officer, just be nice to him and try not to get into trouble at all. I know this solution sucks, but, chances are, the more you try to fight the power, the more the power takes a giant hammer and pounds it on your head.
