Probably due to the majesty of firefox.

Could someone give me a screenshot of the ad, I disabled adblock on this site but I think I added some other adblocking stuff to some other file or something.

Oh wait nevermind, I think I still have IE installed for some reason, if anybrowser has the power to display ads, IE does.

Once you scroll past that it's like there aren't any ads at all!

Personally, I'd much rather have the ads be somewhere like the support page than in the actual posts, it completly disrupts the flow of the forums, and makes the site look really unprofessional.
How much does it cost each month to host the site, just out of curiosity, and how much revenue do you get from those ads?

The firefox ad? $1. You can see why it would have been a shiz load if I made the old link an ad.

I would assume so. Google's ad sense seems pretty hot, as I was told in the merger thread. If anyone's thinking about installing their ads on their own web page, let me know.

IP, Just make the ad blend in with the site and MOST people will like it...Hell, some people might just even click it by accident!

I find putting ads up here funny. Becuase im using firefox, I just use an extension called ad block, And I wont see the ads anyways. No need to pay

Holy crap... an entire dollar?! If I knew it generated money for SEN, I'd have clicked it the moment I noticed the new Firefox button.

As for anyone complaining about the ads, stop. After I noticed they were there, I ignored them, and haven't given them a second thought(until now, of course). I was almost getting to the point of forgetting they were there.

It pisses me off, but it's not terrible. The question I have (It may have been answered, but shut up), is, will clicking on the ads 20 times help the site any better?

I'd just rather not have them between posts, its seems kind of a random location when compared with the locations ads are on other sites.

Does the site run on a dedicated server? if so, then the price would be in the range of 300$ - 500$... in which case, we're gonna need the ads.

You people that complain on the ads doesn't seem to realize that IP has been working with this site for a very long time without getting paid a dime. You all get to have free accounts and you're also able to host images and maps here.

Hosting and late night coding isn't free ya know.

From what I remember hosting is like $20. Maybe a little more for the domain.. Or was I mis-informed?

About moving the ads to the bottom of a thread, I would prefer it stay at the top. Both disrupt the "flow" similarly, however, in longer threads most of the time when you've been keeping up with it you just look at the new current posts. Those are located at the bottom.

In many topics you don't go back to read the first post that much anyway. So really by having the ads at the top you will be seeing less of them.
