Pssst

Syphon.. I got one too!! tongue.gif (usb is wonderful)

And regarding the laptop crack u made, maybe when you become mature and go to college you'll see the use of a laptop, but until then, keep your thumb out of your mouth.

And maybe Mac laptops get stolen more because they're better than windows pieces o' junk?  closedeyes.gif you have to better protect a more valuable asset, and i mean valuable in every sense of the word.

Yes it is. I never cited that as a reason that PCs are superior.

And now he resorts to personal attacks. When/if I go to college I'll be sure to keep an eye on my laptop so it won't be stolen.

As clearly demonstrated by the worlds 10:1 Windows to Mac ratio, more people want PCs than Macs, logically and factually more laptops running Windows are stolen than laptops running Mac. Something still will not get stolen if you're using it all the time, which is what I do with my computers. I will, however agree with you that Macs cost more, frivolous, over-hyped security issues really do put a dent in your pocket.

One of the main advantages of Windows based PCs is their abillity to be built from seperate pieces, and all the different hardware you can get for it. Laptops don't neccesarilly have that advantage, and are overpriced because of it.

To say the only advantage for the Windows operating system is gaming is wrong. Try that 99% of stuff is made for it, hardware and software. Direct X?

And you guys seem to underestimate how big of an advantage gaming is... what do all of you guys do on your computers? Read on it all day? Maybe 1 or 2 of you, but I guarantee most of you play games.

Mac products are good, I wouldn't mind having one, but in my opinion, the Windows based counterparts are better wink.gif (I like hardware though... you don't really deal with hardware, overclocking, volt modding with a Mac :\)

Windows never crashes if you have a decently new version
Macs never crash if you have a decently new version
If you're stupid, you can screw up any computer smile.gif
Linux crashes if you're stupid smile.gif

And Mac isnt a company and Microsoft isnt an operating system.

Mac and windows just are different, I don't think there is any reason to get all divided about it. Macs look way cool though, not great big hunks of metal.

I you look at the design of the original mac you will see that somone or many peoplewere on weed at the time happy.gif . Think about it, the happy mac logo, the rainbow apple, some of the early designs.... It all fits! pinch.gif

Happy apple.

I designed a wall mounted computer that was built into an array of picture frames, pity I never went through with building it.

You have to factor more in than just just having a box shaped figure. I'm sure you know that, though -_-

Having each component in individual, but close linked "towers" allowed for better ventilation, and less of a need for a heatsink, or fan. It was also planning to be built in the coldest room of my house, so that's not an issue.

Although I do realize that not every piece of modern software is picture shaped, and I had plotted out spots in the wall that was safe to partially hollow out, a fake cactus shaped USB port on the desk, and all the other back ports were going on the bottoms of one of the frames, or in a drawer. I know the length of the wires would slow it down a tab, but seriously, it would've been quite sweet.

Your CPU will always need a heatsink or else it will burn up within 30 seconds flat ~.~

And the lengths of wires wouldn't slow it down really mellow.gif I'm pretty sure that some cables can only be certain lengths, though.

I said less of a need. I wouldn't need an uber powerful one.

To Will, opening Firefox or Safari and going to more than 3 tabs crashes every Mac I've ever used.

I've never had that happen to me. The only piece of software that has managed to crash my Mac is... Microsoft Word! Oh, the irony.

Those are some pretty crappy Macs that you used, then. I have 6 tabs open right now in my Firefox. I've had more than 3 open in Safari as well. In both cases, no crashes.

There used to be a video too, but perhaps they're editing it, what they say is still cool though.

PS. Dashboard + Widgets = Curb-stomp-age of Windows smile.gif

I don't see the point of time machine... The only time I've lost anything on my computer is when I chose to reformat it. And it was turned on for over a year.

It's not exactly hard to put dashboard and widget software on Windows, either.
