Hmm sewer never considered that, I might do this but it would be hard to make out of twilight terraign. Thanks for the idea! tongue.gif

I had one more idea that I forgot to mention: the ruins of a temple or some other ancient structure (kinda like AvP). For the sewers, I'd suggest Badlands or Installation (there's the cliche again) terrain; if you're gonna go ahead with my ruins idea, either keep Twilight or try Desert, Ice, or Jungle.

Sewers system, duct system, Maybe aliens could knock out power in some of the places if destory wires. disgust.gif Maybe marines have rehack system reboot power doing this will cause all sewers to open. Because power was down and all sewer caps were locked.

I wont be working on this map for a little while due to lack of ideas and my other two relief maps (Elevator Defence, and The Laboratory, oh ya and the trailer I started to work on for this map) so ya, just wanted to let you know there is a delay in this map's finish.

BTW did I close this topic or was it someone else? :wt:censored:e:

Woot, Im back and redoing the whole map, to incorporate some suggestions and also to mke it legitemate for the mapmaking contest thingy, the things are the same but you might want to look at the first post again because I updated it a little, the players will be seperated due to seemingly random events which will add to the spooky aura of the game and I'm making it look alot nicer than it did before, now that I have the basic layout of the map in my mind I can make it as I go and have it look almost 100% better in the process. Im trying to make a few story changes to incorporate the new changes and also go along with what a few of you said. Xeno also has seen the old version of the map before I started over and said that there was "nothing special" about it and I want that to change. So if any of you can think of a good thing that will make this map even better please tell me. Other than that each unit will now have 4 special abilities except for the paramedic which will have 6 now to even it out, and instead of the constant spell points thing you find ammo for certain weapons and different items such as battery packs and other things like that. So, in conclusion to my long winded post I hope to see more support from you guys as I ditch my "Lost Identity map for now and work on this one again for I have renewed inspiration and hope for this map. Thanks so far for youre support and I hope it continues.

I just was working on the map and thought you people might like an update. wink.gif

I am implementing a sewer instead of a mine and giving you a good reasom to go down there. You have to turn the cities power back on so that they can use their defence system and communicate with the other small towns, but in the sewer is where the alien wueen has decided to take up residence and make a her hive. As you battle along trying to reach the power grid you must overcome obsitcles such as alien compound blocking off the main route, finding and switching the flood gates off to go through, several types of aliens, an egg room w/o queen and also there are other things down there (Predators instead of Gaurdians). So ya, I think that the story will be better and more interesting...take that Xeno *mumblenothingspecialmumble* wink.gif

If you have ever played Natural Selection on Steam then u can get some ideas. Like Offensive chambers (sunkens) defense chambers (spores[also heal]) movement chambers (pool[speed upgrades]), and so on. Also you can make more than 1 hive have a main 1 then like 2 or 3 smaller ones where the aliens reproduce.

Houston, we have a problem!
My comp mesed up and I had to fully restore it to brand new condition via system restore, so ya, all my records of the map are gone. But, it isnt really a big problem because it only sets me back 3 or 4 days or so...so ya, anyways I havent seen those maps so I wouldnt know and I'm planning on having alot of interesting twists and stuff. The problem though is trying to make it work right with people getting seperated and cut off and then having them meet up later, so its going to be hard but I think I'll make it!

Ouch that really sucks, but starting over is the best idea sometimes. It'll be alot cleaner and organized now that you know exactly what your doing =p

Setback again, one of my idiot sibling dled something on my comp and when I tried to delete it it screwed my comp up, and since i only had saved this on my comp it was lost so I started over again, but now that I have the first few parts mapped out in my head, I am gonna Rock and get this done, the spellcasting system is looking snazzy and so is the unit specific areas, also i have a sewer system becoming a reality and also some pretty good looking cliff areas, so ya, now that i have decided to go with the creepy/alone feel ii came up wit a good name and also its coming along pretty good although I'm having some trouble on my spellcasting system and the triggering is a pain in the A censored.gif so ya, I'm not sure if the map contest is still on but i still will try to finish it by then so keep your hopes up, also, in a month or so i will be holding a beta test so PM me with applications and I will write you down for further reference, it will be decided who will be in the beta by preference (how little annoyed I am at you) and first come first serve for those who I dont know very well so ya, right now im making a list for future reference and i wanted to know if any of you wanted to see some screenshots that show some areas that might be edited later so, expect it by January and woot its looking way better than I had it before so expect some good terrain.
