Actullay that could work quite well. I coan have a location the size of the screen and move units to the high terrain using the location properties thing. That would be very easy and I could move them taking less units, and as long as I set it up correctly, it could work brilliantly. Only thing I'd ahve to figure out is how to make it not do that when 2 people are next to each otehr, I don't want it to say unit unplaceable, but it shouldn't be too much of a problem.
I'll just have to test it a bit. Thanks guys.
you mean a rain being only around the 'hero'? hmmm nice idea
btw as for the rain/sunny use allied/unallied

You're a stalking freak, Evil-eyes. Don't spam next time though.
Anyways, here's an easy way for rain in maps.
Play WarCraft III and set the region to have rain in it.
(You didn't specify it HAS to be .scm/.scx.)[/center]QUOTE(`BiG~kAhOoNa` @ Sep 15 2004, 05:36 PM)

Well i want someone to post a map with the different rain effects, and then also have the glowing beacons withmaybe some blur from floor hatches involved (like in A&O). Damn school, damn it to hell!
I have lighting, but no good rain.
I was thinking, it;s very hard to make the rain follow the hero because I would need a lot of locations. Also, if I have it everywhere, it will mean a lot of units. This RPG is turn based, so i was thinking of having the rain just in the batlte area, unless you guys could think of a good way to make it follow the hero without cnetering on it. I'va had a lot of trouble with it. The only thing I have yet to test is SF terrain with different levels and the trigs only affect high levels, but they all try to go into one area and spread into the main terrain.
I will mention though for anyone that wants to use rain effects, my friend Timaeus in his forums helped me come up with the idea of turning the weather 'off' to reduce lag if it becomes a problem, so don't worry if your ideas will cause alot of lag in slow comps.
there is on rain in caves - thats much less units =)
Well you could always make obs and have some seild in batterys, and have the batteries change the obs sheild and then make the obs sheild go down again.... If not rain it makes a good wind effect

i think that requires a computer player for obses and it makes them move... cluster together O_O
What do you mean by there is on in caves?
sorry, "no rain in caves" thats less units. only some cavy water areas
I get it now. That makes me think. Do you think it would sort of look liek rain if I used SF 2 and placed terrain that is a cliff by water so the water is moving slightly in the square but it has land. I was wondering if that would look like rain, but I really doubt it.
