If your going to say this topic is pointless, don't keep trying to say who'd win. This topic can't be pointless because all it is our opinions and how we have backed them up. True we may ned to know some circumstances of the battle, but who would honestly expect them to fight in an arena in space, in a pool of lava, underwater, or flying towards the surface of a planet (or any other pointless scenario). I assumed that most people who read the topic title would place them in a battle zone where they could adequately fight. Screw the terrain and other factors. Just some open endless expanse of desolate plains where there are no earthquakes. Which by the way would NOT cause a tank to lose to a marine, most earthquakes occur without us even feeling them. The only way to have a tank lose would be to have a building collapse on top of it. In reality huge rifts in the ground don't appear because of an earthquake, thats all in the movies. Plus the marine has just as good of a chance of either falling into that crevacreviceeing crushed by debris.
back to samus and MCSame with MC. I think even Halo fans can agree with that. Sure he's genetically altered but his skin still burns to lava. It's his suit that protects him from lavaCough Cough but Samus is the exact same. Without her suit she would burn. But the fact is that they DO have suits.
I think they should be married and i think i'm crazyI agree on the crazy part. They would never get married because MC is fighting to save his people and Samus is out for revenge against the Pirates who killed the Chozo. They wouldn't understand each other and they would never see each other outside of some battle where one might get killed (or both).
Samus's world takes place... in another world. There's no "Earth" in the games (I think) so they could evolve...So where did Samus come from if not from Earth? Last time I checked she WAS human integrated with Chozo DNA. But still human first.
Since when does her aiming suck? IT'S LOCKED ON SHE CAN'T MISS. Unless the enemy hides behind a rock or somethingor if your fighting a flying opponent because even the attacks that home opponents only have a limited homing.
Beams:
Her Ice beam as mentioned before does shoot ice. It is not a "stasis" thing. From the Metroid Prime manual: "The Ice Beam has a slower rate of fire than the Power Beam, but it makes up for this flaw with its ability to immobilize enemies briefly with a
layer of ice. (there is more but it is useless to this topic)
Plasma Beam (again from the manual): "The most powerful beam weapon in Samus's arsenal, the
short-range Plasma Beam launches streams of molten energy....
So if MC is far enough away (my estimate from playing the game would be around 10-20 meters) then her beam would not even reach him. All guns in Halo are not limited by range (excluding the new ones in the PC version (the Fuel Rod & Flamethrower) and the Needler, which by the way is hardly even used at all.
Wave Beam may be the best chance Samus has against MC. The electric properties of it may cause his suit to malfunction, but I doubt it because in the Halo mission known as 343 Guilty Spark, MC is teleported to a different location. This should have some electric field properties that may hamper with his suit, but it doesn't happen. And later in the mission called Assault on the Control Room (I may be wrong about which mission on this one) MC is required to jump into a stream of energy which only knocks out his shields. And even then the flood appear as if from know where and he still manages to make his way out. He has to repeat this two or three times I might add.
Power Beam is the closest thing to a Covenant weapon. If its so strong as it has been made to sound thus far, why is it that this beam is weak against the bugs that I brought up before? Without her charge beam these bugs take longer than it should to kill.
The Super Missile Combo is probably the most dangerous thing Samus has that Chief would need to be wary of. These are the ONLY things Samus has (maybe aside from her power bomb) that have the power to kill a Space Pirate in one hit. (but do space pirates ever get hit by the Power bombs in the first place?) These pirates don't even react to Samus's presence unless they are shot at, or Samus enters the room they are in. But if she remains behind the door they are completely oblivious to her existence until she opens fire. Chief could sit around all day making sure that he gets the absolute perfect head shot that would kill him in one hit. Or he could throw a Plasma grenade which would have about the same effect as around 1/2 to 1/4 a Super Missile. So two grenades and he may be out. Even if it didn't killl him, a few rounds from a MA5B, which has been dubbed weak, would easily finish it off.
Her power bomb as mentioned in a previous post does look like crap. There is no actual bomb. Its as if Samus blows up but somehow remains in tact. Doesn't a 'bomb' need to come from something? It doesn't just happen, there has to be a reaction. It stared with igniting gun powder and has come to splitting an atom. But it doesn't just happen. (don't even say maybe she is splitting atoms. For those of you who don't know this is also known as a nuke.) And it takes forever for any actual damgdamageoccur. Mose oMost is just a flash of light. If the power bomb from start to finish lasts 6 seconds, 4 seconds of that time the target isn't' even effected. Only in the last third of time does the target receive damage. MC can easily get away in that time.
regular bombs, don't even go there.
And overall I have found Samus to be incredibly lucky. Let me explain by once again refereing to Prime. In the first 'level' Samus defeats the parasite queen and must abandon the Space Pirate Frigate. Just before the exit she turns around and an explosion sends her flying into the elevator shaft. This damage alone has knocked out her Varia Suit, Charge Beam, Morph Ball, & Missiles. At this point she doesn't even have her Thermal or X-Ray Visor, or any other beam beside the power beam. She must regain all these abilities while trying to destroy the space pirates. Now lets say that the entire game on Talon IV is a series of doors in a straight line. Each key to the next door is one of the upgrades to her suit that she receives (missiles, morph ball, gravity suit...)Now what if the key to door 1 was actually behind door 2? She would be screwed. "Game over man game over!" (Alien who cares what #) She is very lucky that she has the key to each door in the order so that she can walk right through to the end. Lets say that the Morph Ball and the Gravity Suit locations are switched around but the rest of the game is the exact same. She's stuck. The only hope she has is to hop into her ship and go home. That is why MC is so good, he doesn't need upgrades for his suit. He can make his way through the game know matter which mission order he goes in.
I just realized how long this post is..wow If you read this whole thing I apologize to your eyes.
Ok 2/3 Halo Defendeds (Excluding Red-X) have become so cocky in their responese that they end it with:...Why thank you for noticing. I tried to make my argument without sounding cocky. EzDay2, every time i read you say
QUOTE
...was the exact sameĀ

ing thing, except...
and all i hear is cockiness and trying to sound cool. I'm sorry but you don't need to say that to get a point across. You sound more like a grumpy old guy. F-this and F-ing that...you can't really be that mad...Its just our opinions and the old guy thing is another one of my opinions. (Which the constitution gives me the right to say

).
I would go onto MC's weapons like I did with Samus's beams and bombs, but this post is long enough I'll wait.
