Tight man, you better get crackin on this

I'm sick of waiting.
Nice... I love the new screens...
Im glad your keeping this thread alive with screens it really keeps people coming back because you always seem to poast more...
On TOPIC:
For music will you have separate music for boss battles... It would be good if you did like in the FF series the music gets faster and make you get more into the game and feel like your doing something special...
About the Speed Ball or whateva...
I* noticed that your kerigran... Mabe (if Not a Unit alredy used change into an infested terrain... You will go faster... If the battle system is TBC it will work even easier..
PS: Keep the screens coming

About the music... i probably WILL be adding seperate music for bosses, and i'm going to cut the main music into pieces so when other music comes on, it wont overlap it so much.

and about the Boost Ball suggestion, i'll keep that in mind, i havn't really focused much on the weapons right now, terrain/non-story line triggers are my priority (enter/exit towns, text, shops, enemies, etc)

That's how it should be! Engine first, THEN the game. However, always keep the story in mind when making the map and the triggers. You don't want to have to redo anything because of a slight oversight.
I was thinking of making the town Lumin (
The town thats in the screen shots of the random unit interaction) to something like this, i placed civilians/medics qPirateKings style in these pictures, but i sorta like the idea;
Err.. Medics blinded me, i should've fixed that...

what do you think looks better? (
to see Lumin, check out the pictures on the first page)
Well....
Hard for me to pick, since, personally I like both.. except for that medic walled in by the top part of those ruin structures, or w.e those long poles with square tops.... ... very disrciptive... ugh typos tonight! Brain = Dead

But... If I was you, I'd go with second one, but tis upto you, and good luck.. I'd love to see this finished, and if you need any testing... jus pm me or somethin' ;D
~Peace
How many sprites have you used up to create this? Seems very excesive, and can you not walk over them then?
Still i like the battle system, if you want to save yourself from setting the computer health up again after setting it down, have it so the unit is giving to another player who has health around that level, and you can then set it lower again without setting it higher, although personally i think its better to have something like this;
Battle System;
Versus stronger units you can use special start offs, such as weakening their health to a lower level before the fight really begins, just as the fight spells in the battle are just simple clever use of units firing for you, that way you'll never have to worry about raising their health.
I think the 2ed one looks cool!
But ya... You can walk under/over sprites.
How did you work it? mabe put something like doodads under it?
The best option would be well placed Trees, so that they basically get blocked, and then add some Unit that fits the terrain to block.
I can find out what he did by loking at the mini map
If you look carefuly he has high dirt around the side... You can tell by looking at the screens so nice job on that.
When i was working on a terminator game and i was making the junkyard I did ruffly the same thing... Only what i did is I put null under the sprites so you couldn't tell that you couldn't walk through them it looked prety cool
Yes, that seems the best idea actually, saves units and doesn't affect the players, however you'd better hope the sprites cover it up!

I don't know how much i used for that jungle, but to make it looks like a real jungle, you'll need alot of bush's/tree's in the backgroud and around you.
And i placed cloaked units underneath the sprites that you could of walked under.

So all is ok.
Oh right, well maybe think about Odd Angels system, since it saves on Unit count and can be just as effective.
About using the null

I'll try that

or i could use a tile that players CANT walk on, but still has jungle/grassy look to it

I'll look for one in the Master Pallette.
You might want to think of actually using the pieces of terrain that are just like the sprites themselves.
That's a REALLY spiffy looking town you've got there! I'll caution you on something though... Some of the sprites overlap all wrong. Like, I can tell that you wanted the twilight pillars on top of the columns, but when starcraft messed it up. Same with some of the bushes near the counter.
I know, i did want those twilight pillars to go on top the jungle columns, but it didn't work out that well...

But if i can't find a way to get it on top, then i'll just remove them...
You should be able to locate some Doodads that'll fit it perfectly.
Look

s like it will be a good map. Can't wait to see how it ties in with the real game.
I sjut foudn a problem...
Your map is made in Badlands... But that town is jungle... how does that work?
I use grass from badlands, and i use the jungle doodads in the badlands town,

.
Pretty simple, not a big problem.
ADDITION: I also updated the main thread post,

"Legions of the Void**" and umm it's still an idea, partially made yet current map of it thrown away, so it's a map to be done in the future, if i still play then...
and battle system so far is coming pretty well, i hope i'll come out with some screen shots in the next 2-3 days
