As for the next four points, the point of the map was to have fun

QUOTE
-You cant change the gun arm .
-You need some Metal Marine music.
-The enemy doesn't constantly send you funny threatening messages.
-You didn't make energy plants.

that IS fun! wink.gif

Unbalanced you'll have to elaborate on since the people are equal

Around the end, demonstration

p1: Omg I cant get past all those freaking turrets!
p2: Hahahah I have millions of metal marines gaurding the base!
p1: Ima scan your Whole entire island with my scanner
p2:So? You cant get past my uber defence!
p2:Oh there's your hq, ICBM! Pop goes the weasel.
p1: Omfg I hate you! I only have one life left because There are only 2!!
p1: Ahahahah I sent a goliath, and since it doesn't run out due to my factory I will pwn you with just one!
p2: Stop it! Omfg ground turrets take 50 shots to kill a gold marine, not to mention, besides other marines they are the only ground defence I can have because the creators didn't add land mines! Dang.
p1:well too bad! I will now destroy all your incredibally weak buildings with my one goliath and destroy your tech tree and those money spawners that make barely any difference and cost you way too much!

P2 is stupid, defense is how you lose.

Good thing HQ's can survive ICBM's eh? And it's a good thing nukes suck when you spread your things out.

So P1 got by mass defences with marines, cause P2 is stupid and didn't kill the opposing Adv. Sci. Fac. I don't see the problem.

Maybe this is why you're so bad at this game?

All in all, I would like to see a map you made, so I can critique your work with no logic involved. Eye for an eye, eh?

@Devilin, I made this map all by myself. tongue.gif

I have to agree on this one. Enter the tourney in Clan MC and we'll see if these sorta players win.

Ah got it. I was confused when i read that Rabid was checking triggers, and then I rememberd that you guys were always testing eachother's maps and helping with triggers. Well all the same, nice job.

This was an awesome game although it's kinda frustrating having to teach the noobies about the game...Then by the time they've learned it I've already won...

The only other thing I can think of is making it a 2v2. In my opinion I think it will alot more strategy to it.

Other than those things this map was awesome...
Although the first time I played a had a friend in observer so I had inside info on where there buildings were biggrin.gif.

It'll be great to have a tutorial in game. My fingers are all sore typing all day teaching all the newbies how to play.
Still a GG.

Suggestions:
Make the Metal Marines weaker. Their defense is so high which makes defensive building/units absolutely pointless.

Try fix this error: When a dropship is sent to the enemy base it can get hit by turrets. It's all right with this, but once the dropship got repelled and ran into the sea area. All through the game we can only see the text:
QUOTE
unit unplaceable
because of the dropship is on water.

SCV respawn. It is rediculas that the game ends with all your SCV dead. A well timed missile strike + goliath lure can destroy the SCV very easily, especially in the early game your opponent will have no units defending. They'll be forced to fight the Metal Marines with SCV and at the same time a missile stroke the goliath...

Some defense offered against ICBM. It is really 'unstoppable'. Once I and my friend missile each other's HQ right in the beginning. And both of us were racing to get an ICBM first. (though my friend chraged 2 marines through to my HQ and won)

Protoss buildings is suggested because you can upgrade shields as opposed to the attack upgrade of goliaths. Or make buildings tougher. I played with my friend and we relized if you get a high armor for the Metal Marines you can just pound through and chrage at the HQ.

One lame way to get through ground turrets is to stand your Metal Marines next to buildings. I've destoryed enemy HQ many times by just having their Ground Turrtets splash their HQ to sherds. Make a different ground turrets without splash. (sunken is recommanded)

Let the observers play some mini game. I'll be a cool idea to make the middle water area a rocky ground for the observers to play tic-tac-toe.

I agree with dragon on the hp thing. But it's still a 10 out of 10 misc map in my opinion. Best one I know of.

Metal Marines are strong, and I have brought up with khaos, but he disagrees. Please read the thread next time.

SCV Respawn is purposeful. I personally like it because it can speed up the game, though it has never ended it for me but once.

ICBM's encourage spreading out, and they dont kill the really expensive buildings or even an HQ. 10 missiles are much better spent taking out 10+ turrets if you aim with skill.

Protoss buildings are out of the question. Issue of pylons, and a redo of all the triggers aint worth it.

If you have enough MM for their ground turrets not to kill b4 HQ, I think the game is already decided. The splashing effect encourages micro.

Observors are there to observe, they can always leave.

Guess I missed it. GG

I dont need to take out many buildings at once. I just need to aim your HQ and boom, it's over.
Ahh...forgot 'bout the stupid pylon junk. Darnit.
It's okay if you can micro like 12 or 24 tanks, but in that case I mentioned I think he must have his HQ surrounded with tanks...
Many times the observers keep leaking information to both side, telling everyone where their HQ is. It is quite disturbing. A few mini game is good enough to occupy them so that they don't annoy the players at both side.(I've considered closing the observer slot, but I wanted to spread this map as far as possible so I keep them open so the others can join)

Defense is a tough issue in Metal marines, because the offensive is the strong point in this game. While I was looking at JetBlast's rant about unbalanced warfare, it occurred to me that P2 really sucked because even though he had created about 20 defensive metal marines and around 5 ground turrets, he still lost to P1's 1 gold marine. I mean, 1 gold marine is the equivalent to 2 metal marines when there are no upgrades (the 2 metal marines are better when weapon upgrades are involved)
Even though Offense in this game is much better strategy than defense, Defensive marines are still a great asset even though they cannot upgrade their air attack. (Marines have charon boosters upgraded, letting them have a farther range than missile turrets) Unfortunately, unless you use them properly, offensive marines can come in and wipe out the base while dodging the metal marines. One issue that bugs me is the fact that helicopters (dropships) have a humongous 500hp. You could just run past the opponents missile turrets and drop them off at the hq. (I had to deal with that!!! In my opinion, it was so cheap!!! I had enough turrets, but one missile had to turn around to hit the dropship.. so the dropship still had 10hp left... AARGH!!!) That is the only flaw I see in this whole awesome game that KhaosKreator made.
Another thing I realized about JetBlast's rant was that he was incorrect in saying that the resource bays are worthless. With 0 resource bays, it feels like your money is slowly going down instead of slowly going up. With 2 resource bays (3 is max), you get a nice steady income. Also, ICBMs are not God-missiles. Most buildings you fire icbms at will burn down (some at 20, some at 100, it all depends) If you aim a ICBM at a headquarters, that does not mean you win. Even though you hit the hq, it burns down from about 100. 1 scv on a burning hq is a losing battle. 2 scvs on a burning hq very slowly raises its hp. 3 scvs on a burning hq is quite efficient and you can repair it to non-burning in about 1 minute. ICBM's are more like time-stallers because opponent has to waste man-power and minerals (on non-hq buildings) to repair it, giving you ample time to organize your troops and re-aim your missiles.

Hey Khaos, are ICBM missiles affected by the missile laboratory?

It's a great map. I've enjoyed it while playing with a friend. However, we both agreed it was a little bit slowpaced, it felt like we were playing advance wars. None the less, a nice map.

Slow-Paced? I disagree. The games I play with other experience'd MM's are very fast paced, and if anything I would want a slow down. See replay for evidence of what Im talking about. Its 1.11b so not quite sure if it works with that new fangled 1.12..
