Too bad I found this topic so late - I could actually do some research myself - a time ago we tried with friend, using a trainer creation tool, to do some weird stuff in SC memory; but it was when I didn't know much about SC modding, and never heard of IE. Arsenal, or MPQ Tools.
I am somehow suprised, that this kind of triggers is possible. I do some programming, and first thing what I'd do after removing basic code for players 28-256, would be to add asserts everywhere, and output mad things to log if somebody would try to mess with that.
But, as I know read about many so called "bugs" in SC, some of them I tested personally, I believe that most of those things were done not by accident. Maybe memory mapping triggers not, but all most of those "glitches" we used before.
What can I say.. thank you for that.
I'll beter go and start doing some development

and maybe some small console utilities.
BTW, any has of You tried to mess up with SC memory using WinAPI functions like ReadProcessMemory or WriteProcessMemory ? [I haven't tried so I don't know if those names are 100% correct].
