I got to the cave... Friggin hard...

And the listed prices are 18, 32 and 64.

Yeah, I meant the real prices.

If you have some gas leftover for the cave just start placing a few flairs around (purchase grenades). Yeah thats the only part where you really are at the mercy of random chance, but you can at least give yourself a bit of a chance with those flairs.

That's what I tried, but I still ran out of time... I got 2 detonators but couldnt figure out where to go...

Well, the only advice for you there is that the place you need to be is the place you haven't been to yet.

Read the walkthrough for that part, if you need to. There's a few other tricks that can help you out.

I prefer not to use guides or walkthroughs, unless I'm really stuck about something. Now that I know what I have to do, it shouldn't be TOO hard...

I can't pass the forest... I always get PWNed by templars... dry.gif But I'll beat it !

Just stay on the road, keep ur rifle equipped and whenever you see them coming get to a path and start firing randomly so u'll slice'm up. That's how I did it.

Omg! It's Tuxedo in the flesh! With a new map! My dreams have come true!

Or you can really cheat and just give your defiler 255 armor to start out!

You represent 3 things that begins with I.

Invention, Innovation and Inspiration.

Wow, I can see that you have put huge amount of effort on every single category of work! From terrain designing to making triggers, every little thing has been carefully thought off..

However, if there is something to be fixed, can you make introduction part skippable? I think it's already short enough, but you know, players are going to be addictive to your map and that means they are going to play it hundreds of time or even thousands, if you like. I don't know if it's just me, but I usually even delete the video files that games play when it starts, because I just want to get in and play. I'd say it's better to spend more time on playing rather than watching introductary movie.

I'd say this map has a future and I'm glad that at least you, a legendary mapmaker, remain in mapmaking and still giving inspiration to other mapmakers. I know it's a hard time for you, by considering your age, but you are very brave to endure that just because of your obligation to other younger mapmakers. An obligation to become their mentor. Well I couldn't endure much longer and that's why I quit.

Well good luck to your next episode, I will be looking forward to it and I hope that even Blizzard recognize your effort and who knows? maybe they will host your map. smile.gif

There is a way to skip the introduction. You have to build a scarab from the reaver that is above your overlord. Not a lot of time is given, so you have to be pretty quick to get it.

To everyone who is complaining about how hard this map is, STFU. This is just like an old school Nintendo game where you just had to play and figure stuff out and you couldn't go on a forum to whine about how hard it was. You complained to your friends, one of which usually knew how to beat that part of the game and made fun of you for it.

God, this is a great map. Instant classic. Enjoy it.

Well.... 1st try i got to the guardian.. stupid rifle auto close-range hits.. doesnt notice the missle flying at me which wants to kill me....
2nd try i got to 2nd guardian.. and noticed i used the slow rifle.. ..not enough time pinch.gif
3rd try (still being alone.. cus all my jerk friends are always offline sad.gif ) and using pass from the highway i got to the plains.. and got my ass W0NZ0RZED and served for dinner.. =/

Anywho, Great map and I dont think its too hard.. just the time is kinda tight. Sweet music, except the choppy-ness and the cutting-off-ness of em kinda sucks...

[Rant] Before ever knowing there was a walkthrough, I tried playing Rush. Then I got completely PWNED by the damned Guardian. Being pissed at the first boss for handing my dead corpse to me on a platter, I open up the map and cracked the cheatcodes. Now, after cheating, falling off the chasm seven times, beating up Gargula (this really pissed me off), getting past the Serious-Sam-Kamikaze-Yelling infested terrans, I STILL CAN'T BEAT THE BIO-GUARDIAN. Great map, except that I'm more of a fan for the "Wow that's cool" maps than the "you got pwned, come back and learn from your mistakes and retry again", and Rush combines both. So good, yet so bad. [/Rant]

Must. Pwnz0r. Bio-Guardian.

Well this is really only a 'trial and error' map when you don't catch on to the ques the first time around. I just didn't realize so many people would be having such a hard time with the learning curve, which admittedly is not a good thing to have to be trying to overcome while watching for said ques at the same time. Especially for RTS players, who are used to figuring things out before tackling them instead of during or after. Shooter players are typically more adept to handling things on the fly, but not as strategically minded (which is really the intended audience for this kind of map).

Still, there's not too many effective ways to communicate to the player in starcraft how to go about handling situations (some people don't even seem to read the messages at all, for one thing), so unless you can almost instinctually pick up on most of the ques you're almost guaranteed to have a hard time with this.

I didn't kill the Dropships so that I could get more gas. tongue.gif It's not like its too much harder if you don't kill them. The extra gas helped out later in the game anyways.

I admit that I am not going to be playing this map anymore either. What I believe the problem is is that I am not enjoying trying it over and over again.

The beginning, the highway scene, etc. I think were all perfect difficulty and fun factor. Then I entered the caves. I was like.. are you serious? Is something this stupid in a map that's been this amazing and awesome up to this point? I kept on dying over and over, so I was like. Ok. It's been sweet up to this point, and I can just maphack to get to the next part. Which I did.

Plains were great! I really enjoyed it. Took me 2 tries, just like everything else to do. Note that I save and load off save at the start of every level, though.

Then came the turret thing. It was cool, and like everything else took 2 tries, since I didn't realize the CC would kill me the first time. But then, surprise! I'm still sitting there on the turret, only this time facing the same stupid enemy that plagued and bothered me before in the caves! 15 minutes and 2 heals later (I have 4 emitters at this point), he copies himself 7 times and kills my turret before I have a chance to heal it again. I would go return to this, but the problem is: I didn't learn anything to do differently for when I'd return, like in the other cases. Even for the caves, what I learned was "maphack to get through the stupid thing and see the rest of the game". For this I'd do it exactly the same as I was doing. Infact, I'd probably eventually win, but it is so god d*** repetitive and boring that I'd never want to do it.

Who knows. Someday when I'm bored I might return to this game and actually play it. But as of now, I don't plan on even taking a second shot at that level like I did for all the other levels; it was that annoying. A++ map excluding anything regarding that hero ultra, though.

Playing one player on this map, I found very few glitches and it is a really good map.

But I played it on two player: HOLY CRAP!!! Chock full of bugs in 2 player. Let me list them:
-=- When you first begin the game (the actual shooting part) the music is playing twice I think, but this evens out on the next music loop.
-=- In the forest level, on the part of the trail that curves around really close to the ramp, the bomber guy can move up over off the trail and activate the boss.
-=- The flamethrower weapon for the bomber is way out of whack. It creates flags that (I think) should explode, but they don't all explode. So you are stuck with flags blocking your path.
-=- In the Grumpy's caverns (or whatever it is called) whenever player 2 shoots, the cave is illuminated, as if you're shared vision is on.
-=- In Grumpy's Caverns, (this one isn't a big deal, but my brother insisted) the blind hydralisk beneath you is still called 'hydralisk'.
-=- (This one is in Singleplayer as well) on the bridge, on the 'Jet Bike', on the stretch of highway that it takes you to from under the road signs (eastward), if you hug the top of the road, you can skip part of the highway chase.
-=- (again my brother insisted) the control tower is still 'control tower'.
-=- I don't know what happened, but on the windy chasm level, player 2 just randomly disappeared, and was never seen again. (so sad...)
-=- (this isn't a glitch of any sort, it just pisses me off) Stop making the guardian kill the turret in one hit.
-=- (this isn't exactly a glitch) player 2 can't shoot while player 1 is moving, and player 1 is almost always moving.
-=- The highway boss (not the guardian, the wave of ultras) have a hard time attacking you because you can duck behind the egg.
-=- It reloads your weapon whenever you heal!?! (is that a glitch?)

Hope these get fixed.

BTW, where did you get the music?

Don't use P2. Buggy as hell.

Anyway if you're having trouble with that Gargula thing, fritfrat(U), read the walkthrough. That's what I made it for.

There are a few tricks for beating him. The turret boss battle is mainly just reflexes, though (and yes I've noted the glitch where he spawns at your turret without running to it first).

also, your khaydarin crystal formation's name hasn't changed. while it'd still make sense for it to be named that, its the original stacraft name and looks noobish(especially from someone of your caliber)

Jesus. Shut. Up.

The fact that there is so much to talk about this map, makes it a work of art. Quit complaining. Seriously. Most of you are nitpicking about worthless things, even moreover this is a one-of-a-kind map that 99% won't even be able to achieve, i.e. you're complaining just to complain. He made a map that uses shooter type skills in an RTS map. Show me one map that does this with the same degree of execution.

its not really complaining, its criticism. hell, its not even that. its informing and theres nothing wrong with that

I hear Tux is a perfectionist as well and I'm sure he would be glad people are pointing out these slight errors so that he can fix them for Episode 2 of whatever.
