Oh, yeah "status" as in your place in the social ladder on SEN. Basically we're saying everyone wants to be well-known and somewhat popular (i.e. Bolt_Head or Tuxedo-Templar, as far as non-admins go*).
*Note: If you're an admin, you're popular. And you can't go any higher up the ladder.
Its feels really good to be a regular (although I'm not one) and it seems too insignificant to be a member only. Anyway they're really important, but basically I'm here for the mapping and stuff.

I have seen your posts, You dont have too much further to go, only 35 to 40. Devlin you say that admin is as high as you can go, well, I know people that really dont like the admins. Because of their ability to warn and ban. I like the admins, I look up to them, but I know not everyone does
Popularity doesn't necessarily mean that everyone likes you. You could be the infamous admin, yet everyone would still know your name. When I talk about status, I generally mean peoples' desires to be known. Sure, most people would want to be liked by every one, but they'd probably want their name to be famous.
And when I said that being an Admin was the highest step on the ladder, I basically meant just about everyone on this website who has actively checked SEN for at least one month knows the names of the Admins (or at least 2 of them).
Yes, I get it, I also think that everyone already knows DTBK's name because of his post count and before he was an administrator he was a Global Moderator for the longest time.
I'm sure that the first thing everyone does on their first visit is to check the statistics page to see the top highest posters.
No joke. You can't become one of the top 10 posters without being known
Now, if it was the top 10 reputations by my system... *dreamy smiley* Even if it were the top 10 reputations by your system, you would be on top for that anyways. Because you have been on the site for a long time and your post count is through the roof!
I actually wonder who the top ten would be for your system...
*DevliN goes off to get the DTBK Rep scores for the top 20 posters of SEN.
well like alot of peeps said so far. I wanted regular when i was 100 away i posted 15 times a day about until i got it and then posted like i did before, only when i had something to say good. Even though elite is nice its too high up there, oh the multi pm'ing thing is a really nice thats someting i wanted to get and too change topic names and such
Tell me the results when you're done Devlin =P
And 8 people don't care about ranks? Show yourself!
I post because just viewing other people posts without contributing makes you look like a creepy old man...
Which I'm not..
Seriously...

Woot, I can totally agree with that list that they mostly make up 20 of the most respected members on SeN.
Note that LW would definitely not be that high because the members would have trashed him following the OSMAP incident.
True, but in fairness I made the ratings and such the same. The only difference is an average join date, total posts, and post count.
A lot of those members haven't posted in a VERY long time, yet they still are ranked very high. I'm not sure how big of a problem that is, but it seems once you're high up, you're going to stay pretty high up.
Bolt hasn't posted in forever, but don't you respect him?
I like pretty much eveyone on that list, though there ar a few I think that don't deserve to be up there, very nice list Devlin, good work. DTBK is this gonna be what we use for v5?

Dont we all?
I got an idea! Lets start a petetion against mini and ip for the system we'll make a topic and all sign it and then force them to put it up
REBELLION!!!
RAWRZ^_^;;!MONSTER
Umm, sure! I think that DTBK's system works great, it has a lot of different sides of SEN all in one, I think that we should use it. The only problem is that every now and then you would have to re-rate every person. For them to have an accurate status.

My rank should be higher because before my account got hacked i had like 2600+ posts, which thus also affects my posts per day.
If this system is ever going to be implemented (which I hope it wont) then I demand that I have my post count restored back to at least 2600 something.
For all intensive purposes, such things should be dealt with.
All I ask is for my post count to be set to 2600. That isn't too much of a hassle. Only reason why I didn't ask for this earlier is because I remembered IP (or someone) saying that there wont be anymore postcounts in v5. But it turns out for the most part that your system will be used, thus the postcounts will still remain.
Except that IP has only indicated that he has no intention of implementing DTBK's system in v5 whatsoever.
