There seems to be a 1000 dollar contest for a good campaign floating around, why not make the Matrix maps a campaign?
Nah. It'll be more pathatic then. Single map - good.

Post subject: Campaign Contest A GO!!!!!!
Uh, not a prank - I'm not talking a lot of money here. My word will have to suffice. I'm in a business where breaking my promises can be very costly - so I don't make them unless I intend to keep them. I can tell you that I'm certainly not wealthy, but $1,000 won't break my bank. I just love Starcraft (first played it in Graduate School and have been hooked since) and I want to generate some new interest in campaigns.
OK, Great there seems to be some interest so I'll assume we are go for the contest!
Here are some submission guidelines:
Campaigns to be submitted to me by the end of January, 2004. That gives everybody about two months. I don't have a web site, so CD's are best (I realize it may cost a dollar or two to mail - if that's a problem, let me know and I'll reimburse for postage). I and my "judges" (two other Starcraft devotees) will play the campaigns and award prizes on February 15, 2004. I hope that gives us enough time to make a fair judgment.

Campaign guidelines:
At least Eight missions.
The more complex the better (Voiced, different races, many missions, etc.) Not necessarily difficult, but complex in structure is what I'm looking for here.
Campaigns in progress are fine, but must be new and original: don't submit already completed campaigns (I wont except FringeWars or LOTC, for instance.)
Overall looking for moderate difficulty to complete. I'd like to see campaigns that progressively get more difficult. Not too hard and not too easy.
I and my colleagues are medium-skilled players - so keep that in mind.
Multiple authors are encouraged (a team can split the prize money anyway they like.)
Prizes:
$500.00 1st prize
$250.00 2nd prize
$100.00 3rd prize
Smaller prizes for 4th on down (I'd like to try and compensate as many real efforts as possible.)
Also, please advertise this contest throughout the community - It would be great if this reignites some interest in Starcraft campaigning!
Any questions or suggestions (like a web site to host the campaigns to save on postage, etc.) - please email me.
Good Luck!!!

I like the idea, but what i don't like is if you work in a team you have to split the money. I mean that just ruins all the fun

Its a good idea, but I suck too much anyways so I don't even bother...
*sharp intake of breath*
These forums are where I can spread my awesome map ideas I've been holding onto that I never have, am not working on, and never will make!
Dodging Bullets:
Scourge Bullets.
A bit simple, but oh well.
I don't think many people will care about the idea, and it's probably not new, but I might be lucky...
I've actually been considering Scourge bullets for a LONG time now. Those are going to be used in one my maps in the near future. You can have HTs fighting with pistols dodging in bullet time.

Hmm, wouldn't scarabs make more sense? Though I haven't tried them being commanded by the "order" trigger, it might be possible since they are effected by the Junkyard dog command. Plus, scarabs look more like bullets, with their trails and stuff.
Plus they also explode when they miss, which would be a limitation on Scourge.
The triggering would be insane. I would have to find a way to make them go towards the one.
Center location + order + like a 7000 milisecond time limit to make em go toward The One
well, hes dogding them no? and where would they spawn from?
Ok, for special scenes with these bullets...
have 1 locations for each Agent.
Use a random-trigger-thinger that makes a neutral(as in, no gameplay effect just sitss there doing NOTHING) burrowed Zergling where The Neo, err, One is. Now, at the same time, a scourge appears at the Agent and is ordered to the Zergling/s.
If Neo's location centered on him touches it, something happens like a spider mine appears and hurts him. DEPENDING ON WHEN THIS GAME TAKES PLACE, perhaps bullets could die when they touch the location, and after THAT observers appear over the agents which the Scourge go after...
Like it?
