No, creating units after the speed change didn't seem to work...

As an unexpected side-effect, single player cheats are disabled after a speed change. blink.gif

when changing the unit to 35748 so that the firebat can have shields, starforge just crashes from "overflow", is it too high of a value that starforge can't read or is there just no existing unit of that type?

Wait, Are you saying all cheats dont work? like money bsw and cwal?
It could make anti-cheaating so much easier... except for those map hackers...
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Voyager7456(MM) on 2005-07-26 at 14:32:01
I tried almost all the cheats. Nothing happened. The Restart Mission button also didn't work. blink.gif

EDIT: Even changing it to 16x speed, then creating units, then changing it back to Fastest speed (via triggers) didn't work. All units were frozen. But changing it to one of the refular speeds via triggers (Fastest, Slowest, w/e) had no ill effects.

Errrr, wow. The map of insanity is pretty insane, try placing a hatch and putting it on hyper speed and watch the larva crazy.gif, also anyhting that vibrates does it super fast. Slow mode doesnt seem to be to exciting though. In both modes they dont accept anyhting new, no cloaking, building, moving, attacking etc..

addition: You cannot ping during this, people who leave do not appear so, during lag box things will move, cloak, pings will occur etc.. and under fast speed everythign ends instantly, untis beign built, cloak, lockdown, brood energy goes down to 0 instantly etc..

QUOTE(Deathknight @ Jul 26 2005, 11:11 AM)
Deaths are 4-byte numbers(a long). Max is 4294967295.
65535 is the max for an int(2-bytes).

I thought it was understandable when I explained it...

The only reason Starforge has the negative number is because it can only read signed ints as a number, whereas the actual data is a signed long.

Legacyweapon is working on a program to generate the triggers for you.

In the mean time, why don't you guys go play with...

Location 2:
Left Position - DEATHS OF 304 PLAYER 5
Top Position - DEATHS OF 304 PLAYER 6
Right Position - DEATHS OF 304 PLAYER 7
Bottom Position - DEATHS OF 304 PLAYER 8

Map height(boundry)[Pixels]: deaths of 1515 for player 7
Map width(boundry)[Pixels]: deaths of 1516 for player 8
Game Speed: deaths of [-29092] player 6
I think I suggested at one point that you use exstended units as well as players... Never mind though...

But ya, this is awsome. This makes it so you can set locations numerically. I see a revolution in (mobile) gridding coming. You could make a 1 location bound without all those lurkers.

What about macs though? Can they do the same things differently?

No, but you can set it to Slowest setting (0 deaths) without any freezing.

Few modding concerns to keep in mind:

-since we're using extended units, the wuill probabally all be data-scrabled with the next patch.
-if you actually can change what weapon a unit uses, beware of calling nonexistant iscripts.

Now off to make a defense (easy+fast to make) using all this crap.

Macs freeze when trying to put the triggers/conditions into action.

None of these "units" exist. It's a starforge limitation. Let me fix the numbers:

2. I'm afraid the firebat can't be given shields-- unless the deaths of unit -29788 for player 11 can be set to 1.
The firebat hero can though, if you set the deaths of unit -29788 for player 5 to 65536.

You know the location thing is really amazing. You can subtract and add the position and change the size, or do some stretch thing with center location and the continuous setting of the other sides.

Not everything. Some things won't change. But a lot will. I think it's safe to say this will replace the idea of an "automodder". See, if an automodder was made, it would have to be updated every patch as well, and would also only be for PC users. The superior thing about the trigger thing is that all players in the game do not require to download a mod to play. What's also superior about the triggers is all the information that can be changed, can be altered during the game. The triggers also can change things modding can't.

I like "TRIGGERS OF GOD" though.

I submitted a news post talking about this to help spread the word. I await Yoshi's approval.

is there a list or something for how many deaths a player needs to have shields for each unit in sc?

Lol, mine is so pathetic and simple, but I just had to tongue.gif
By the way, when the map dimensions are changed can you move units out of them?
I Could move the location WITH the unit in it out of the map (with new bounderies) but couldn't order the unit out.
I mean, the location moved out of the screen because it kept going (I had the add deaths to the moving location) and the unit inside the locatoin (the fbat) also moved out. But why I try to order a unit out it wont work.

DeathKnight, you are the hottest man alive right now, seriously!

why can't player 9-12 deaths be changed? is there a way to go around this?

is there a list that shows how many deaths a player needs for all the effects? (is this too much to ask?)

What memory searching program do you use anyway?
What memory searching program do you use? I think that some SEN members, with a little tutoring could help you in listing this stuff.

Or even better, you could releace a map editor with new trigger actions and conditions that are setting exsteneded death counts in disguise.

Such as "change map size"
"modify tile set"
"Give unit shield"

Of couse all there "trigger actions" would just be fancy SetDeaths actions.

Most people would just think that they were unused trigger actiosn, and n00bs would be able to use them. SEN members and such would know better.

You should also releace an editor that is friendlier with this stuff then SF is.

As I've said, Legacyweapon is working on the program.

There is no way around the player 9-12 deaths not being able to be changed.

For some reason I still cannot add these units in SF by ID, I downloaded and put the two new actions and conditions files into my SF data folder, but it didnt do anything, SF still refuses to allow me to input units by their number.
Addition to DK-
Really, what memory searcher do you use, I bet many people on SEN would be willing to do simple grunt work with it for you.
