Its mass has become so enormous that it's gravity has become huge. Since light is particulate, it draws that in, and if it's dense enough, it can trap it. The reason that it has such a gravitational potential, since it starts with the same mass as the star, is because it's several million times smaller, so the gravity is exponentially bigger.

F[sub]gravity[/sub] = G(m[sub]1[/sub]m[sub]2[/sub]r[sup]-2[/sup])

Where:
F = Force (n)
G = 6.67[sub]E[/sub]-11
r = Distance between the objects (m)
m = Mass (kg)

Since there's less space between the whole of the mass (aka Centerpoint), the force is considerably more.

Summary: Denser = More Gravitational force (When Masses are same)

Superdense Blackholes or Super-massive blackholes are the heart of our galaxy. The supermassive blackholes sustain our position in the whole galaxy, but its not yet proven yet since we are not in the inner galaxy we are at the wingside of it.

Well, since black holes large, the blackhole can tear you apart through and through until only pieces of particles are left, and thats even before you are going to cross event horizon. And yes, black hole can rip space fabric if the scientists are correct but the time delusion is not true, time delusion is only a illusion caused by the event horizon suckikng the light in, besides you wouldnt feel a thing if you went into the blackhole, you'd probably die of age or tear to the particles.

Die of age??
I want to see some proof that time and space are related ASAP!!
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Sie_Sayoka on 2005-12-21 at 00:37:42
everything is related to time.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Shapechanger on 2005-12-21 at 01:36:48
No, energy is related to time. And energy is in just about everything.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Sie_Sayoka on 2005-12-21 at 02:48:43
but you yourself said time is an illusion... so since energy is related to time the energy must be some form of illusion as well as matter and everything else.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Shapechanger on 2005-12-21 at 03:04:52
Time is energy, and vice versa. It's an illusion.

Time is an illusion. There is no time/space fabric as they are not related at all. A black hole doesn't tear anything, it's a simple thing that naturally happens. I don't know how or why you sci-fi freaks come up with all this 'time stream' and 'black hole' stuff.

Sci-fi freaks? Look, buddy, we didn't come up with this 'time stream' and 'black hole' stuff. Besides, black holes are only called that because you can't see them (no light can escape from it) and anything that goes near them 'dissapears' (thus giving it the appearance of a 'black hole').

QUOTE(Soulshifter @ Dec 21 2005, 12:03 PM)
Technically, it should be a Black Star....
[right][snapback]384865[/snapback][/right]

Technically, it's not a star at all (it emits no energy whatsoever).

Beyond the event horizon, time suddenly stops (for some reason), so you wouldn't be able to die of age (you'd be ripped to shreds, anyway).

event horizon doesnt stop time. Its merely illusion by the effect of the energy and light being trapped. Xrays and radiation are emitted from black holes.

you can't prove time is an energy. For all we know time could have always existed.

Where the hell did you get this info??
Black Holes emit TONS of energy, it all just gets sucked back in!
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Lithium on 2005-12-23 at 05:15:01
you can't really prove it. Non of us really can. We can however i have said before can detect X-ray emissions, thats how we found out about Black Holes.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Lithium on 2005-12-24 at 03:12:33
someone ban this guy... and i found another thing about black holes. They are invisible on your eyes! w00t.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Sie_Sayoka on 2005-12-24 at 03:16:46
unless theres light behind the blackhole then you can see the absense of light.

Umm Didnt the space age begin when we first launched ships into space?
If so, the space age is over, i think we're in the 'information age' or sumthing...

Chances are it wont happen any time soon...

you know ever wondered what happened if you happen to launch a 2k megaton nuclear bomb that would explode if it got too near to a black hole?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Shadow-Killa_04 on 2005-12-26 at 01:41:23
I'm imagining probably nothing except there'd be an explosion of sorts. I'm sure there have been planet sized meteorites that have crashed into blackholes and not much has happened. Blackholes aren't invisible to light, the fact is that since they were a star about 100000 times bigger than ours when it collapsed its gravity kept on pulling itself in so much that it becomes like earth size. Hence, not even light has the ability to by pass its gravity, it gets sucked in with everything else for some reason.

Anyway, at the speed of light it takes like 8 million years to get to the closest galaxy. We have absolutley no way in hell in the next 10 thousand years to get anywhere even close to the speed of light. So, were confined to our freaking galaxy. WTF are we going to do here? We could possibly terraform mars and thats about it. That'd take over 1000 years and although that may be very soon to the big picture, to us that seems for ever.

Did you know that at the speed our current space ships travel a pebble size thing going in the opposite direction of a space craft can cause a 5 inch whole due to the fact that its moving at like 50000 miles per hour. So we have this huge ass space ship which will probably being hitting 100 freaking pebble size things every hour, it won't last to long.

O ya, why do these threads keep on appearing about spaceships and meteorites killing us all, they're so unrealistic.

wonder if FTL is possible. Is this why no alien has been to earth?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Kow on 2005-12-27 at 18:11:14
How do we know aliens haven't been here before?

http://www.ufos-aliens.co.uk/cosmicegypt.htm
http://www.truinsight.com/absolute_proof_o...en_artifici.htm

And a bit more evidence, neither refuting or accepting, as it gives information doing both.
http://www.ufoarea.com/aas_abydos.html

Some of this seems bogus, but you should decide for yourself.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Lithium on 2005-12-28 at 05:31:47
I dont think any ugly alien was down on earth before. There is no solid factly really proved and discovered solid as iron evidence in that. If this were true then FTL would be either possible, or the aliens could live millions of years.

Or they're an older race.

don't see how they can manage the trip that long, and stay here a long time ago, leave afterwords?
