Religion is just for most of the weak-minded humans who can't look into science far enough, so the lazy-asses we are just simply come up with a simple statement "some 'god' created us, lawls"

My religion, very new (~100 years old), Promotes science. And abides by all the rules of it. It never proclaims things like "you will live a thousand years" or some shiz unbelievable.

After roughly 1000000000000 of these topics have passed, I have come to the conclusion that the same members will post the same arguments in each in every one of them as long as they have access to SEN and that they will never, ever change their stance in the argument, ever. So there's really no point in these topics anymore, why don't we try to think of some more original topics?

Yet you claim that homosexuals have a disorder of the nervous system, despite having little to no evidence of this being the case.

If you abide by the rules of science, you should be open to a change of policy at the drop of a hat.

Enough with the "well, you need something to believe in..." crap. If you have nothing of substance to say on the matter then please refrain from posting more inane drivel. I can see why you're banned from Serious Discussion.

And come on...it's none of my business that there is a powerful faction that wants to turn the U.S. into a theocracy? None of my business that there are insanecrowdist Muslims all over Europe and the Middle East that think they can simply trample all over the established nations and build a police state based on literal references to a book?

Until the Constitution (and thus the 1st Amendment) goes down in flames along with this entire country, I'll exploit that freedom to its fullest, and speak how I please about religion.

What I am saying is in support of gays. It shows that it is not their fault they are gay, and are therefore not inclined to being "bad people". We are against gays who have become gay for the heck of it, however.

From a personal perspective, I am not in favour of gay adoption for reasons I mentioned in the previous thread. Please do not assume I am against gays in general for one simple opinion I have against them.

There is evidence out there that it is something to do with the brains functionalities.

Here is the evidence by the way: "However some scientific studies have pointed to findings that gay mens' brain anatomy is similar to heterosexual women and different from their heterosexual male counterparts"

Although I used to be a very devout buddhist. I have to say that religion is indeed obsolete compared to the everyday science. Just about everything in religion is indeed deemed to be incorrect by science single handedly. Religion is there for one sole reason. To give people a purpose. There are millions of people who do not feel they have a purpose in life, by believing in something, they have this newfound joy in life that helps them move forward in life. Think of it that way. Think of it as something that may not necessairally be real... yet has the power to keep someone alive and living. Indeed life might be pointless, but with religion, it has newfound hope. This is the path that some must take in order to live.

I have to admit however, there are a lot of good teachings in the bible and in many religious text. They are all moral issues that are easily deemed true. "Thou shall not kill."

wow 3 am hahah I'm up too man..

Yeah well put man.. but religions like mine abide by scientific laws.. I think one of our quotes is like: Religion and Science are united. or something.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Red2Blue on 2006-02-10 at 06:06:23
Science and religion has to be united in order to survive.
It is the everyday paradox that exists in this world.
It's just like english and physical science in education.
You cannot have one without the other.

You must use english to prove your science problems, and you must use science to verify your english usage.
