I am in no way a Windows lover, but as a home computer, Windows outperforms Mac tenfold. But yeah, Macs have their uses.

I'd love a Mac as a secondary computer, but for a primary home computer, it has WAY too many restrictions to it to make up for it's large price. smile.gif

The end.

They are just as good, if not better than a home computer.

Home computer doesn't just mean Games. FFS.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Deathawk on 2006-04-24 at 21:01:05
Where else do you play games and use random applications?
Not in an office, not at school, but at home. If you want a computer to surf webs, and talk to friends, get a 200 dollars POS computer, not a 1300 dollar Mac.

And what's Ffs mean?

Indeed. Windows-lovers are quite thick.

They both are good in their own wee way. Im not going to say how, because I already have about 10 times. Just shut up, it's OVER!!

How can you even say that? You are being just as thick as everybody in the thread. But performance-wise, I think that both of the computers match up pretty evenly. It's just that most people use Windows because most people already have it and most programs are designed for it. It's mainly a matter of preference. But how is Macs better business and powerful applications?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by warhammer40000 on 2006-04-27 at 18:00:06
Its better to have Macs in businesses because you wont get a virus and get all of your precious files lost. Their applications are more advanced. (Though windows are more numerous.)

Deathawk, stop comparing prices of a top-of-the-line Mac and a dumpy, cheap Windows. My Mac was 800 dollars, with some very expensive applications for free including Sound Studio 2. (80 bucks?! Free!!)

Give me a break. And urmom calls me thick when i say that each is great in a different way. That's beautiful, really.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Deathawk on 2006-04-27 at 20:00:50
I can get a top of the line PC for ~750 dollars.
I can get a PC that can basically do anything a Mac does for around 350 dollars.

But whatever, use Macs for work.

We. Don't. Give. A Crap.

This should be closed, because it's a repetative circle of repeated ignorance/arrogence.

Each side has their advantages, and dissadvantages, so quit your obsessive biznatching about which is better. Comming from a PC and Windows user (Me), I would go with a Mac if I could.

Now just shut up about it! You're arguing over absolutely nothing, and it's getting stupid, and old.

Holy christ!! For the eighth time, people. I DO NOT CARE why the hell Macs dont get viruses. The thing I care about is that THEY DONT!! And the only reason more people use Windows because people are stupid!! You cannot deny that. Look at "American Idol".

Second, memory? Processors? These are things that dont matter for computers. Memory ads on, durrr. Look, http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/WebO...7&nclm=PowerMac
Thats not kickass?

Second, if you want a black computer? fine, customize it. I don't care what mine looks like, it still kicks ass.

Is a graphics card and PCI/AGP?  If so here's mine: ATY,Rage128Pro2.

And Carlsagan43 stop trolling. Macs have a built in internet you can go online with your desktop, but it's easier to use a browser. I use safary and all it does is tap into the computers web browser, and it hardly ever crashes. I'm going to buy VPC and I will run game faster than a normal windows. It's just the truth macs are stronger and more realiable and yes pc you can play more games on but that's what Xboxes and other such things are for.

Uhh windows has had built in internet since '98.

QUOTE(Kellimus @ Apr 20 2006, 01:59 PM)
It means they would rather pay the heafty price, for a machine that won't give them ANY shiz at all.

PCs always have problems:  Their motherboards go out.  Their hard-drives burn up.  Their CPUs overheat.  Their video cards are fried.  Their RAM goes bad.  Their ROM gets messed up.

Macs: None.

Do you mean that new PC running OS X?

QUOTE(warhammer40000 @ Apr 20 2006, 10:08 PM)
I dont care why or how Macs dont get viruses, I just care that they don't!

And Im not going to worry about this new Windows-Mac thing, because Im not going to use it. I really dont need to play games on my computer. It's not neccasary. I have a ps2 for that.
But I agree with everything else you said.

I've never gotten a virus, neither have my friends. Viruses are caused by general stupidity

QUOTE(Syphon @ Apr 20 2006, 10:09 PM)
If they just sit there? Neither will. Nothing will happen until they get either struck by a power outage or a smooth criminal.
Or a school, or a dumb person.

But screw this all, as soon as I get a junk computer to screw with and constantly reboot I'm writing my own operating system.
I have two non-junk computers. I found them on the street. They both run Windows. They have both never had a virus, or spyware. One had a hard drive faliure. It was 8 years old. My friends 8 year old mac had a hard drive faliure too. My 10 year old pc has yet to have a single problem. I wonder what this means?

I was just clarifying what I was talking about reguarding this.

Cool. For. You.

If you don't care, don't post here.

In conclusion, the only advantage Mac has is that it minimally has better graphics, and there are less viruses made for Mac than windows.
Haha, you're done arguing now, after it's proven that Windows doesn't suck lmfao.gif

Windows has a max amount of 4Gigs of RAM.

Mac = 16+GB.

Uh, yeah. They are. PC's have virus and Trojans. Macs do not.

Shallow? Dude. The reason PCs are so cheap (Windows) Is because they want it to bust down on you, so you have to spend more and more money to replace shiz. You call us shallow, but you can't even grasp the basic concept of supply and demand.

Wow. That picture was rather pathetic.

Macs are better for everything Camo named off. PCs are good for games. How blatantly hardheaded do you have to be?

QUOTE
You tried creating the fabrication that Macs get as many viruses at Windows does; Therefore, you've lost that argument because only ONE has been made against Mac.

Take your own advice.

Windows Viruses = 1000+

Mac Viruses = 1

Therefore, you guys lose.

And that's only the first 35 or so posts.

And if you wern't, what were you arguing about?

And what the hell do you need more than 4 gb or RAM right now? Heck, what the hell do you need 16 GB of RAM for?

wrong. Intel x86 has a max of 4gigs of memory. PowerPC has a max of 16gigs. AMD64 has a max of 8gigs. I still dont see why you would need more than 4GB memory.

And stop trying to say that Macs last longer, my 10 yr old PC has yet to have any kind of faliure, my friends 8-9yr old Mac (runs OS 9) had a hard drive faliure.

After spending a lot of time and waiting for almost a motnh for a solution on my Powerbook problem Apple decided to ship me another laptop. After a week reinstalling and configuring it back to where it was it started to freeze and crash all the time. I've spent a total of 8 hours of my time with the "geniuses". And all they could come up with was to resintall Mac OS.

Did this fix the problem? Nope.

Right now my 1997 Pentium 3 Intel is way more useful that the sleek Powerbook G4.

You're right Kellimus, Windows notebooks are MUCH better, for a smaller price, too smile.gif

No, Windows notebooks are not better. Windows is an OS, stupid doo doo head. Same with Mac.

You can have a normal laptop with Linux on it. Or Unix. Or other OSs.

Jesus.
