Now that all these great "revolutions" are coming to macintosh computers, they still suck. They are way too expensive and have an operating system based off UNIX. Just becuase they make music players doesnt mean they suddenly make awesome computers too. There is nothing special about macintoshes other than the pricetag. Why is everyong so hyped about them?

Well, I think a lot of this is from dislike of Windows, and Microsoft. I would like a Mac, but that being said, I would not like to pay for a Mac And the only iPod worth buying is a shuffle(because nobody else makes anything like it.), everything else is overpriced, at least at my Best Buy.

I like Macs because I've used them as home computers throughout my life.
Also, much of the graphics, photography and design industry uses Macs.

Mac is used worldwide for photographers, graphic designers, and most of the design industry uses them also. Mainly because you can't get viruses on them, you can't get worms, even though they are expensive I think it would be certainly worth it for more eyecandy when booting up, more feedback, better music service, and soon a platform to play more games on.

Just because they know how to draw, doesnt mean they know about computer hardware. They think the hefty price tag means better, which is not true.

You're just grasping at straws here. "LOLOL" isn't any form of rebuttal to UNIX being essentially virus-proof. UNIX is designed to be virtually impenetrabale. There are more than 1,500 known viruses for Linux. If the sole purpose of this thread is to be some rudimentary channel of expression for your rather unsubstantiative view on Apple computers, then I suggest you find some medium of communication other than written language.

Windows/microsoft = more customizable than apple

Macs have their pros and cons. For instance, they dont have any viruses and other crap and their iMac for instance is the size of a portable and has no fans. The cons are that they are over priced and you can't really customize them and upgrade em that much.

Its true that the mac operating system is UNIX based, but does it really matter? The operating system is fast and never crashes. I could care less what its based on if it worked well which it does.

I really hate this debate because people are way to oppionated.

Macs do not have that stuff because there would be no reason to make a virus that only effects 3% of current computers. They just don't have them currently.
And just because you use Windows, it doesn't mean you're bound to get a virus or anything of the sort. It's called ANTI-VIRUS/FIREWALL! And it's not like you can't get those for free.

I'm pretty sure the Windows OS doesn't "bust down" hardware.

Contrary to what you think, PCs dont start off with viruses, trojans, worms, etc. People are the cause of these problems. People are dumb and install activeX, and other shiz without even thinking. Worms and viruses dont magically come to you.

Anyways, Apple was going down to the shizter. Well, actually, they weren't making a profit until they unleashed the iPod that completely saved them. (Sort of an eggsaguration.)

First off, that proves that...

A.) Macs can get viruses.
B.) There is not many viruses engineered to attack a Mac.
Secondly, if you have a well protected PC, and aren't dumb, you won't get any viruses either.

In the end, this is the way I see it.

A PC can do everything a Mac can do, for a cheaper price.
A Mac cannot do everything a PC can do. At least ones that aren't Intel based

I dont even understand why, I guess that maybe since they get their graphics cards custom made, they can do some fancy graphics acelleration, but most people just claim they have better graphics and I'm like `What?' because they run in the resolution and color settings that you put them in, like Windows and Linux.

Just because you 'hate' apple doesn't mean everyone does. It's a very reliable system and is virus proof. It loads fast, it's memory is great, even the laptop's. The Windows on the other hand is great too. It has great flexibility, memory, and is cheap. It all matters on the eye of the beholder.

Not really, the health of your computer just depends on how well its treated. i.e. all the computers at my school crash all the time, the server sucks and they are all macs.
Read some of the other topic That's hardware. I can make awesome computers. Probably even for less.
Yeah. Random note: I am selling a computer - AMD Sempron 64@ 1.8ghz (runs much faster than my p4 2.6ghz) 768mb of RAM, Geforce 5500 128mb vram, 6 usb slots (4 back 2 front), 2 firewire, DVD-ROM drive, CDRW drive, floppy, 160gig SATA HD. It owns up any computer in my house basically. Going on ebay soon.

But yeah, if you guys are saying that Windows is cheap and is all crap, think about this. You could buy a computer that is a lot better than a Mac for the same price. They seem pretty good, but they are too costly and not as customizable.
