Staredit Network -> Games -> Don't want SC2?

Have you guys seen the videos of them? I really dont like the graphics of the Starcraft 2. I dont like how you can move the camera view. I would rather keep it fixed. It makes things complicated when you move the camera. They changed too much.

Have you heard of the Hybrid race?

They can't really do that legally.

Do what?

Blizzard hasnt released any videos for SC2. Thus, these are currently videos of a third party maker setting on foot on SC. Illegal.

I wasnt very sure on how that movie was made either. It was showing the units, but how did they make the new race? It looks so real but I dont like it so hopefully its not like that.

If you mean the C&C mod, that's old, and it was shut down like over a year ago =/ The WCIII Mod seems to be legal, as it requires both games to work, they havn't released any video or anything yet. Still a work in progress as far as I know.

I know all about that one. However, that is in the expansion zerg campaign. KrAzY was talking about the original terran campaign, which as far as I know doesn't have any secret levels.

The original terran campaign had 12 levels. However 2 were thrown out. It's believed because Blizzard wanted 10 levels for each campaign. the 2 levels CHK's can be extracted and played though.

Weather they should be included in the storyline or not is debateable because they were not included in the actual campaign.

Well, I don't know if they're illegal or not, but they certainly aren't official.

Yes, I think they were very careful to make sure they weren't violating any of Blizzard's legalese. Of course, Blizzard could probably still shut them down if they really wanted to.

How? I might like to have a look at them, if there's some easy way to do it without being a l33t h4xx0r.

Wont happen however. The only possible thing the mod can do is generate cash for Blizzard. The C&C generals mod could draw gamers away from Sc and to C&C thus not gaining blizzard anything.

If you call using WINMPQ and then putting a CHK file into a scm/scx file being a l33t h4xx0r then you need some help. Thats nothing.

Sorry, I don't know what WINMPQ is, nor what 'CHK' stands for, and I've never heard anything about this system before. I may not have to be a l33t h4xx0r, but I'm going to have to know more than I currently do.

Winmpq is an archiver(think winzip) to archive MPQ files that Blizzard developed and use for there games.

Scm/Scx are in fact MPQ files. The CHK file is the actual map data that is placed inside them.

How do you get the CHK from the cd? Or mpq?
