It would be a pain in the ass to do that for any diaginal movement.
Wow this forums getting big.. 12 pages..
I mean theres even a war starting on if Tuxedo's Trailer was worth and is actually not as good as people rant about. I wonder how many other topics this'll branch off into
Oh well... The trailer rocks... he made it look good... made it enticing... nice and short with a great .wav and timing, and choosing his effects carefully (in a very short timespan of 2 days... wow

). Hey Tuxedo, your trailer looked like you were making a movie.. maybe in real life turn this into a movie (if possible).
THE
A&
O Saga..
Coming to Theaters near you..... (that would be awesome if you could do that)
Edit: Cool theres a trick to shift screen while kicking away observer

hey tux u shuld make a demo at least to show us whats going on ya no???

Yea a demo would be nice.

Actually I did use an observer, but I used bolt's trick of pushing the view location out from the edge of the map to make it unseen by the players. I didn't do that for all scenes, though (too lazy).
You mean moving it with Teleport Unit to Location?
How can u make a demo of a movie?
The demo of a movie is a trailer which has been released
Im pretty sure its a movie or is it o_O
Oops.. I think i confused you Golden. sorry
Ok.. Tux is making an RPG called The Alpha and Omega Saga. When I first saw his trailer, it looked so awesome it looked like a commercial/trailer for a movie instead of an RPG. So my post was that I would think it would be cool if that some time in the future, he would use his RPG as a springboard to make a movie out of his idea, because he was so good at selling his product with the trailer/commerical.
I hope that made sense to you Golden

Edit: Oops, I meant that he make a movie for this in real life. I would think it would be awesome if he made a REAL live motion-picture if it was possible to make his idea into movie form. Sorry if you read this in the first 10 seconds when i posted this and go confused

So ur saying
You think its a game and i think its a movie like "Kill Me"
and you want it to be a movie some time later in life
A real Movie

A real Movie
It is not gonna be a movie, it is going to be a RPG.
A&O = An RPG on StarCraft
A&O Trailer = A preview of the RPG
It's a map, not a real movie. And I don't know how many real movies are based on a StarCraft map, but there can't be many.

When i say movie i mean "Kill Me" kind of movie
LOL I mean that Tuxedo-Templar should make a real live motion-picture (You know... where you go to Regal Cinemas.. buy a ticket and some popcorn..) using his probably very
detailed plot for this RPG which he is currently making.
I already know he is making a RPG and the A&O Saga trailer was just a preview.

Its that the thought just occured to me that he should make it a movie because his trailer looked more like a commercial for a movie (good images... great .wav playing behind it... The "Coming Soon.... Fall 2004") than for an RPG game.
Wouldn't it be cool though if this became a movie? (Obviously it would be played by people than by tiny SC characters.)
Oh yea... Golden-Fist, you hit what I said before right on the spot

Don't be foolish, and that really wouldn't sell, people don't like these sort of movies, and although you might, i don't think your find many who would. Ever wondered why there are no Zelda Movies? Because that idea is almost impossible to work...people don't like movies based on gaming action on a large scale.
There's no rule about what kind of movies people don't like, coko. Maybe specific content, but I believe you can make a good movie even out of the crappiest concept or idea depending upon how you implement it. My story would be too long to fit properly into a movie, though. Well maybe not, but you'd have to rearrange quite a few things to get it to work, but it MIGHT be possible. It would certainly be interesting.
Instead of a movie, I'd be more interested to see a full-fledged RPG based on my idea. Hell, if the map works out that might even be a future possibility. Remote, but possible.
I'm a script writer...

Coko, it is possible. Look at Spy Kids 3-D. I mean come on, THAT WHOLE MOVIE IS THEM IN A GAME!!! Of course, if you were to directly turn a game into a movie, it would suck.. a lot. But thats why you modify parts of the game. For example, if we were going to change an rpg that makes you go into random battles at areas, we would have to make battle scenes, and when the characters are talking about the matter at hand. Also, in some towns, you will see much of scenery in the town; other times, you will only see the characters in a royal throne room speaking to a king. Of course, for Tuxedo's "movie", we would need the gigantic war with Karmina and whoever else it is (The daemons?)
Anyways, it is very possible to turn an RPG into a movie, just as it is to turn a movie into an RPG (ever seen The Matrix RPG on SC?) although it is hard to make it neither all battle or too long-winded.

Depends wat type of RPG you talking bout???? Kotor with RT blended into TB or FF where its TB or like Sudeki where its all RT??? lol What type it is really could make a difference for a movie, Obviously the FF wouldnt work. But the Kotor could just make it RT since its looks that way anyway.
Uhhh.. Bringer.. I don't have much of a clue what your talking about.

But, I do agree that the type of RPG would greatly affect its possibility of being a good movie. (That much I do understand, besides FF= Final Fantasy)
Very nicely done, the music definitely adds to the effect
i wonder whos map will be better? Yoshi or Tux? Its a competition!
What about (u)Bolt_head map?
who?

Whats his map heh havent herd about it YET heh.....leave me alone
No guys, it isn't a competition. That's not what doing maps is all about. I'll end up just being an ass if that's what I turn it into. The point of maps is to create in effect a presentation, something to leave an impression on people who play it. As soon as it stops being that, it turns into either a pointless showcase of effects and mapping skills, or else a petty one-up of another person's work. I've decided that's what I want to avoid doing.
Besides, mine isn't the only RPG out there. I'm really just hurting everyone by putting down others' works to boost my own, as I can't possibly cover all grounds of people's interests, no matter how good I make it.
And for the record, it's going to be a RT RPG, so you all know.
Tux is right. Mapping should never be a competition as it will result in a poor map due to contestants wanting to rush the project. Just because they both plan to release their RPGs around the same time, doesn't mean its some sort of competition. Either way, there will be plenty of time for us to play both of their RPGs, and I'm sure they will both do a great job.
NICE MAP THIS RULES! lol ppl keep saying ur lying.
