Not much because i'm still experimenting ways of turning into morph ball and back to normal, until i find the best way to set it up and how it looks...also i'm trying to iron out some major glitches, once you enter a town you can't exit, and unit random interaction.



On top of that, i'm also partially working on a map called Corrupted Law v1.0 which is about violence, gang activity, taking over cities, etc. going to also be a killer map. (i'm writing out the thread for it everyonce in a while, i hope that once i fully write out the thread i'll have a demo)

Use Spider Mines for the Bomb for the Morph Ball...

And for Morph Ball, use Broodling instead.

A broodling? What about a small scarab? I think there is a way to control a scarab... don't know much about the subject!

I'm currently using a Devouring One for the Morph Ball, Broodling stop running every couple steps and isn't ass fast.

Scarab is an unselectable unit, and you really can't tell it where to go. So it wouldn't really work out.

I have to redo the morph ball system because when i made it so it wont change you when you dont want it to...but it got a glitch so. It'll be a while before i release the Demo. But it will be coming out in January.

a Scarab cannot be selectect.. thus controled BUT can you possibly tell it to go somewhere via dropship or darkswarm or... corsair web? or scanner sweep? prolly be pointless but just a thought/brainstorm?

Yeah that whould be VERY pointless and useless and non-realistic and stupid and and and, but it IS a nice thought thou coz you do some funny things with it smile.gif, they can be exellently used as bullets, a soccer ball, and more stuff.
But I thought there where some problems with controlling a scarab with triggers ? I have never try'd it before but maybe I will use it in one of my maps when I can thing of a nice way to use them good happy.gif

SomeOne told me that a scarab can be controled if you are saying: Patrol to the left screen I.A script... Or maybe: Move scarab at "location X" Make Location X follow the scarab... No?

Metroid Prime 2: Echoes is taken because it is a Gamecube game, and has a storyline. You are changing it a LOT.

I made one, and posted it. If you have a unit problem, it can be fixed easily.

Morph ball: Use spider mine
Morph ball bomb: Use scarab. The #of seconds a scarab has till it explodes would be a nice time for it.

Or the morph ball could be an interceptor. Well whatever you choose, make sure scarab is the bomb.

Scarabs, interceptors, AND spider mines can be easily controlled.

Yeah, but you need another unit to center a location on for them to move to to be controlled. You'd have to use an Observer or Flag Beacon's 'Place COP' option or Defiler's Swarm or something. Unless there's another way, is there?

How about the Scarab keeps moving under a zergling so it looks like a morph ball, but u are actually controlling the zergling...

You would use a building controll system, and move in "platform" mode.

And for missiles you could use nukes. They would be ideal.
They can easily be controlled and "follow" a unit, while not being clickable. You then move the nuke back to an isolated position and create an "explosion" at a location that would follow the nuke.

Do you really think you will finsh this map? Cuz most of the time people make something look so kick ass and yet they don't finsh it...

I WILL finish this map, but it won't be complete for a long time. Because i have some other maps im working on, need to fix current glitches, and i'm going to change 80% of the world terrain.

Hey Void. It's hydrakon here. Thought I'd check up on the old map making world. Just finished making this massive signature for the forum. Weren't you at like 20% when I quit four months ago? Slow progress? Take your time, it'll just make the finished product all the better and more organized. Lay off of him, people! By the way, there is no merchant trading/buying in any Metroid game.

I know that, like i said i am redoing most of the terrain, i guess i forgot to say that im removing alot of stuff, such as the towns, shops, etc, those that do not actually belong in the map.

Just telling you, i have started a new rpg, which will own this rpg in every way possible...but i won't be creating a thread for it until i come out with a demo. thanks.

I don't like the fact that the topic starter has created the map and some ideas and then a week later starter this thread, tells everything, gets comment and then say's that he is going to redo whole the bloody map !

If you wanna show youre map, that's fine to me, but could you first get the map ready in big lines (about 80% or something) and THEN make the thread so not everything is changed 4 times and we have to wait 2 bloody years before the demo even is finishd...
You should have waited atleast until you finished the demo before making this thread.
Coz now people start to get inpatient and start making there own maps and such...

That's what i'm doing with my new rpg, once i come out with a demo with no known glitches, i'll create the thread which will release the demo.

all i'll say about my new rpg is its called, dream & reality rpg

And it's based on modern day life and when dreams interfere with the very fabric of time and space. you play as a civilian and you can buy weapons, get jobs, etc. but theres also the story line to it, which i'm not releasing till demo is out. (not story line, its just what its based on)

That would be a problem. Scarabs can't move under units, and even if you used the sprite-unit zergling trick, if you moved the zergling he would try to get off of the scarab.
