i got an idea! alright, in the mod like say the Zerg Cereberate 3 heros can be trained from it. They could be, Devouring One, Hunter Killer, and Torrasque.
Terran could have like Jimmy (marine), and etc, etc.

Hehehehe...you haven't seen my mod then, huh? 4 heroes are buildable from the Overmind, and the Cerebrate gives them all one unison 12 level upgrade. I think it worked out rather nicely...

I uploaded it to the Download Database, but it hasn't been approved yet. Then I lept on modifying it. The latest changes aren't all done yet, but here's what's already been done.

Since it is an Memgraft patch, the MPQ has to go into your SC directory.

Are there going to be any custom graphics on that mini-mod we are going to be working on? Or are we going to make custom graphics only for the real mod we are gonna be working on sometime later.

When Stealthydeath showed me the Power Generator iscript, it worked, but when I tried to mimic that for the ion cannon, it didn't work out so well...x_x

Anyhow, the cerebrate and the overmind I know for a fact require no iscript modifications, so they're the simple part.

The ion cannon...eh.

The Protoss buildings, though, are the real trick.

Actually I had a similer idea called the obvious SC mod.
It has things that should have been included in SC but weren't such as the following:
Wraiths gain a kamakazi attack. (maybe)
Nukulear silos can self distruct. (maybe)
turrets can upgrade just like infantry weaposn etc.
Marines throw gernades randomly during their attacks
Vulture can load 1 small ground unit into it
Zerglings have a special charging attack (i'll exspalin later)
Scourges hurt more, have a sucide button and most importantly splash damage
Zelots can cloak (maybe not)
Wrapgate, cerdibrate and power generator added.
Supply depot can build civialians for 25 minerals.

Need more ideas.

The Missile Turret part is easy, as I'm sure you know...I've done it with Arsenal III. Try the armor upgrade thing with a bunker though...x_x

Anyhow, hm. A suicide button? That sounds like an interesting idea...

And I'm glad you know how to do everything...heh heh heh...That means you can explain everything. Step by step. Right...?

I'm liking the ideas here so whenever Yoshi gets around to reading his PMs and gives us a forum we'll start.

While we're making this extended SC mod, my addition to the concept is to have an infested terran mini-race where infested CCs can build a small infested terran tech tree.

*blinks* ...Hm...when you say tech tree, are we talking like a special drone that builds extra buildings, and thus units, or just units?

Special SCV, but yeah a building or two, maybe an infested barracks and an infsted factory or something to produce a few infested terran units (graphics = normal unit+infestation)

What I'm really concerned about is if it'll require a completely different unit, because my plan was to create a change button group, but that doesn't want to cooperate...

Anyhow, I'll tinker with this some until a better plan comes out.

So basicly, We need graphics of a building still in construction for every building(Terran) we are gonna add? I can give that a try if you want me to. It might prove difficult but me and PCFredz could give it a shot?

What exactly are the buildings? I know Ion canon will be one, any others?

My idea for Terran incorporated the Ion Cannon and the Power generator. I was planning, as an afterthought entertained only recently, of using the Psi Disruptor to make the Terran heroes. That might get intergrated, might not. Other than those...

I want turrets to have a unique upgrade, so that at the enginering bay there is:
Upgrade infantry weapons, Upgrade infantry armor, Upgrade longbolt missiles.
So it's sligtly harder then arsenal III.

Addressed to DTBK: You can make buildings look infested easily by overlaying plauge, acid spore or entangle graphics on buildings with iscripting. It's really easy, and it saves us the trouble of graphics editing. I have a tutorial, see.

I know about the upgrde part; I did that with the cerebrate to upgrade it's armor, the overmind's armor, and all the zerg heroe's/weapons. The only real challenge was figuring out which unknown goes where...

You can overlay the infested command center overlay on a building. It's infest03.grp.

There's a tutorial on it; I think it's more of an iscript thing, but....iscript and graphics seem to be the others half.

Still tinkering with the buttons...those menu changing buttons are confusing the hrck out of me.

Could you clarify something for me? Are we just going to re-create the scv with the infested look, or are we going to use the original scv and force the infested look upong building from the infested command center??
