QUOTE(Merrell)
A woman has 7 children. 3 of them are boys and 3 of them are girls. How can this be possible?

Bah, I think someone got it right.

I said 3 of them are boys and 3 of them are girls, but that doesn't mean it can't be 2 of them are boys and 2 of them are girls, so yeah, the 7th child was just unmentioned.

ADDITION:
What question can you NEVER answer "Yes" to?

Anyone on earth can't answer "yes" either.

(Fairly simple one)

Terminat, I already said the answer!!! Please pay attention.
But yeah, Kow got it right, it was "Are you dead?"

Devilesk, I'm pretty sure people all over the world wouldn't know who I was.
Oh, and kow, if you really want to get the right answer, you need to type "Are you dead?" in 5891 languages, including 1337glish.

Ok.. how do you make 5 + 5 + 5= 550 by only adding one line?

Add diagonal to the + to make it a four

545 + 5 = 550

Yup Syphon.

Ok; There was a king with 8 gold coins. One of them was counterfeit. That one weighed less than the others. He has a balance scale. How can he find the counterfeit coin only weighing them two times? (I need this answered for extra credit, too wink.gif)
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Do-0dan on 2005-10-12 at 19:17:15
put 3 coins on one side and 3 coins on the other, leaving 2 out
if the coins on the scale are the same weight, then put the 2 on each side, when one side is lowered, then the coin that you added on that side is the counterfeit

when the 6 coins on the scale makes it uneven, then take away the heavier 3 and put 2 of the other 3 on each side of the scale, and if one is heavier, then the other is counterfeit, but if both are the same, the one out of the 3 that you didnt put on the scale is counterfeit smile.gif

let me illustrate biggrin.gif

Step 1:
OOO....||....OOO (the 2 other coins are elsewhere)
=
OOO....||....OOO (equal amount of weights)

IF SO, THEN

Step 2A:
O...||...O (the 2 other coins are on the scale now)
=
O---||....O (the left one is higher, which means that it's lighter, therefore it's the counterfeit)

BUT IF...

Step 2B:
OOO....||---OOO (from step 1, the 3 coins on the right is higher, which means the counterfeit is somewhere on the right pile)

Step 3:
O....||....O (take 2 out of the 3 coins in the right pile of step 2B and put the other coin somewhere else)
=
O----||....O (the left is higher, which means it's lighter, so it's the counterfeit)

(When both the coins in step 3 are the same weight, the coin that you put somewhere else is the counterfeit) biggrin.gif

ok i know this is a while back in this thread but its about that tree falling thing
im gonna get all metaphysical on you and say that you it is impossible to know if it makes a noise, you say that it doesnt because we dont observe it, i personally didnt see the hurricane hit... but we "know" that happened and im pretty sure it made plenty of noise, fires start in the middle of forests where theres no one to hear but we have proof they were their, and if we dont observe it then you say it didnt happen, but u cant observe it so how do u know it didnt happen?

OK don't look this one up on the internet, that would take the fun out of it.
My 7th grade teacher gave this to us and I was one of the five people in class to get it right tongue.gif

ALBERT EINSTEIN'S RIDDLE

ARE YOU IN THE TOP 2% OF INTELLIGENT PEOPLE IN THE WORLD?
SOLVE THE RIDDLE AND FIND OUT.

There are no tricks, just pure logic, so good luck and don't give up.

1. In a street there are five houses, painted five different colours.
2. In each house lives a person of different nationality
3. These five homeowners each drink a different kind of beverage, smoke
different brand of cigar and keep a different pet.

THE QUESTION: WHO OWNS THE FISH?

HINTS

1. The Brit lives in a red house.
2. The Swede keeps dogs as pets.
3. The Dane drinks tea.
4. The Green house is on the left of the White house.
5. The owner of the Green house drinks coffee.
6. The person who smokes Pall Mall rears birds.
7. The owner of the Yellow house smokes Dunhill.
8. The man living in the centre house drinks milk.
9. The Norwegian lives in the first house.
10. The man who smokes Blends lives next to the one who keeps cats.
11. The man who keeps horses lives next to the man who smokes Dunhill.
12. The man who smokes Blue Master drinks beer.
13. The German smokes Prince.
14. The Norwegian lives next to the blue house.
15. The man who smokes Blends has a neighbour who drinks water.

ALBERT EINSTEIN WROTE THIS RIDDLE EARLY DURING THE 19th CENTURY. HE
SAID THAT 98% OF THE WORLD POPULATION WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO SOLVE IT.

Good Luck
