Staredit Network

Staredit Network -> UMS Assistance -> Cannot open map for writing

after using star forge i saved my map then i opend it in scxe and when i edited it it said

"can not open file program files/starcraft/maps/*mapname* for writing"

this isnt the first time this happend ><

You can't save it when it is in use. If you have the game in play in stacraft. I am not sure about editors.

SF messes up your WAVs and messes it all up. Delete your WAVs, open the MPQ and delete the (listfile) and reload the WAVs.

You can ignore it though, the map still saves when it shows that.

Open it up in Starforge again, and it'll say like #*(%&#(& or something. Ignore, save and open up again. Re-enter all wav files...

[center]This can also occur when you try to edit a semi-protected map file. Most of the time, it actually does write the data, it just doesn't think it did. Actually, I've only experienced this on a mac, so that's my only point of view, may be totally different problem on a PC.[/center]
